LET'S GO RANGERS !!!

If someone on the ice for the Rangers is "not in the game" tonight....they're gonna get ripped. It cannot get more emotional than this.

I think it was a mixture of cheers and "JD's"

That's what I heard, anyway.

The crowd and Messier brings a tear to my eye. What an amazing ceremony.

Congratulations to a great man.

If those were actually boos for JD those fans should be kicked out. Who the **** would ever boo the guy, especially during a retirement ceremony?

I hope that the likes of Prucha, Tyutin and Lundqvist are watching this display and seeing what it means to be a winner in NY. And, I hope they take it with them for the rest of their Ranger careers.

I'll have to watch the replay... I thought they were boo's and I'm hoping they weren't, J.D.'s been a great part to the Rangers organization for a long time.

Does anyone think this is starting to drag a little bit? Its a fantastic ceremony but the game is not going to start until like 830 or something.

I don't care how much you dislike the Dolans or Sather, it was classless to boo them during Messier's speech. Tonight is about Mark Messier and no-one has a right to bring something negative to his night. Don't think that Messier didn't notice it, either -- he was going to say Glenn Sather's name, but he paused, so that Slats wouldn't get mixed up in the boos. I think the crowd understood when Messier described what he credits Slats for -- that's why they cheered.

If nothing else, the crowd should be cordial. The rest of the time, they've been tremendous, though.

I hope so. I feel like this could game could turn this team into the true winners they can be if they take this energy and run with it. They better win tonight.

TBBB will be pleased!

Hossa was dressed too though. I can't see not going with Tuesday's lineup.

They were dressed just for the pre-game warm-ups and ceremony.

Lets Mess with the Oilers...

it was nice brining the cup into the building.. mark should have ran off with it tho..

no, but hopefully the ranger players can sorta get some energy from that and get an impressive performance tonite.. and of course win!!! Let's do it

---
by the way, i think Hossa and Orr were just dressed for the ceremony.. i highly doubt they're playing

Yeah but it sounded like u thought he wasn't gonna be a winner. And Even if Lundqvist hadn't seen it he would still be a winner. HE is born a winner. Look at him when he lets one behind him, The anger of just letting one goal behind. Even if it would be a 5-1 game and 10 minutes left he would be furious. Thats a born winner. And apart from that he is a real good stopper.

You should see what it means to be a winner in Gothenburg

I love when John sings the anthem. I don't like how he doesn't do it every game anymore. I hear he's kind of a d*ck. So what.
