Cheechoo or Gomez?

Gomez: 43 GP, 17 G, 24 A, 41 PTS, -2
Cheechoo: 40 GP, 24 G, 15 A, 39 PTS, -1

Which would you rather have (winner is in bold).

Depends on who you have on your first line. If you have a Cheechoo on your line, you want Gomez. If you have a Gomez on your line, you want Cheechoo. I hope this makes sense.

Cheechoo with Thornton is better. Without, it's a tie.

Makes sense, but if you have a Cheechoo on your line and you have a Thornton as well, I think another Cheechoo would be better then a Gomez.

2 different players, one is a goal scorer and the other is a playmaker, but somewhat they're both in the same level or class as we speak.

In my opinion Gomez helps raise Elias's game to another level. They feed off of each other. Cheecho I doubt makes Thornton better, but I shouldn't speak sinse I don't see the Sharks play often.

Give me Gomez. It's harder to find somebody as good at creating as Gomez than it is to find somebody as good at finishing as Cheechoo.

The thing that knocks me out about Gomez ... besides his ability to see the play ahead of him unfold ... is how he gets time and space when people are in his face.

Cheechoo's a very exciting player. He's an orange to Gomez's apple tho.

I guess I'll play homer and go with Gomer.

On the Blackhawks, I'd love either. We need a scoring winger more then anything right now though.

Cheechoo is a pure goal scorer and i'll take a pure goal scorer over a playmaker anyday. Cheech also learned a lot from Mike Ricci in terms of work ethic and grinding along the boards which i feel is an invaluable asset to have.

Gomez has 17 goals to Cheech's 24. Not a big enough difference. On the other hand, Gomez sets up a ton of goals for the Devils. Plus, he draws penalties like no one else.

Give me Gomer if we really are going to compare them.

Both guys are different players with another player being on their line...Elias with Gomez and Thornton with Cheechoo. Both guys weren't nearly the same player before those guys joined the team/returned from injury. At least Gomez had Gionta before Elias returned.

Gomez was extremely hot before Elias returned. No doubt he makes him better but to say his stats rely solely on Elias is a mistake. He scored 5 straight goals for the Devils in 2 games, prior to Elias' return.

The thing that has impressed me the most about him this season is he is turning into a goal scorer. He has always had a good shot and coaches have always tried to get him to shoot. He is finally listening and is being rewarded.

I haven't seen enough about Cheechoo to comment but from what I've heard he seems like a pretty good player. I guess I have to agree with it depends on what your team needs.

This is one of those questions that really depends on the other players on the line.

If Cheechoo comes with Thornton then I pick him.

However, if it's a choice between the two for a Thorntonless line then I pick Gomez every time.
