GDT: Nashville @ Atlanta, Game #43, 6:00 CST

mason or vokoun remains the biggest question for tonight.. then whether tootoo's back is better and whether walker, who stated in the locker room after the game that "he was sore", can come back ok in the second half of a back to back

preds going against two very hot teams here in ATL and CAR in the next 3 nights, on the road.

Thrashers with a great pp going, up to 4th best in the league at over 21% and climbing rapidly right now. We have to find a way to stay out of the box, and really play the pk here. Then we need to take advantage of their pk, which is their true weak spot so far, only 29th in the league.

Should be an exciting end to end game tonight.

in years passed, we'd never question if vokoun was going to start or not, back to back...and i think this is one of those situations we can expect to see him in again. atlanta is a little too strong offensively for mason, i think.

I hope our d-men are up for this game. Did you catch the Thrash-Sens game a little while back? The Thrashers really bring it when they want to.

I wish Dunham was playing

This is not an Atlanta team to take lightly at all. Handed Ottawa all they wanted earlier in the year and can really skate with the best of them when the need arises. If we win, it will be a hard fought, gut check type win in my opinion. The best I can hope for is good quality play all around and the penalty minutes at the minimum. Capitalize on their mistakes and try to draw the penalties and the take advantage of them. Not going to get every call and score on every PP, but at least get traffic on their net and make the goalie work his arse off for the win. In other words, play a Nashville style game tonight!! LOL!! GO PREDS!

2003 in the Thrashers @ Preds GDT Atlanta fans were talking trash about how well they have drafted and the next season the Thrashers were gonna win the SE and the Preds were at least 5 years away from a winning season. I remember the whole thread because it was right after I started posting on here.

nice to see us get that goal after a big PK...and especially after Fiddler missed a golden opportunity to bat one out of the air into a yawning net.

ugh, and another penalty... a weak hook. if we give this team chances like we did the wings...we'll be out of the game by our own doing.

Another big kill. Man, Kovalchuk has a laser.

I hope we paid attention to the way they move the puck..the way we were moving the puck when things were going well.

Getting sick of the game of catch Kariya and Timonen play every night.

Erat takes a careless highsticking penalty to put us down for 4 minutes...fortunately Abid takes a highsticking penalty with 2:20 to go...Kariya takes ANOTHER weak hooking call, we're briefly 2 men down...we kill it all off...

...and Zidlicky takes a hooking penalty to end the first. Keep this up, and we WILL lose this game.

The NHL is an absolute joke when it comes to officiating. I think all our penalties are deserved in this game and the last, but how bad is it for a league that was attempting to ramp up consistency in officiating for a team to go from one game in which virtually NOTHING was called into a game where virtually everything is called And the games occurred within 24 hours of each other.

It's an absolute joke that the NHL cannot properly train the officials. Officiating crews should not have wide ranging personalities. They aren't paid to be characters. You should not have to 'game' officials and strategize and plan based on the crews available. You should have a general idea of what to expect night in and night out. I don't expect perfection from crew to crew, but this is ridiculous. This Jekyl and Hyde stuff just has to stop.

Good movement and keeping the puck in the zone that PP. Just need to stop passing so much and get some shots on net.
