6 penalties and getting outshot bad again. 2nd period was garbage. no puck control. good goal by Z.

no puck control...no puck control.

guess we know what we look like against a good team.

Good game by the shelly line...had a lot of chances..held the puck pretty well.

GREAT GOAL VYBES!!!!!!!

There must be a heck of a time delay b/c cbs.sportsline has Vyborny scoring this goal about a minute ago.

Anyhow..we'll take it..

Same old stuff....same old stuff. Lets get back to reality here.

Didnt it look like we tried harder the last couple of games?? Maybe the drug testing coming up has something to do with it. Everybody quit taking speed.

Whelp..they couldn't get it done tonight...great game by Denis..the score could have been a lot worse. Clothes couldn't be hung out to dry more than Denis was tonight..

Berard and Westcott were really off...might be an idea to split those two up and put more stay at home guys with each or maybe was it was just an off night for both.

More positives outside of Denis...Nash/Z/Feds kept their point streaks alive. Nice to see Vyborny get a little offensive streak building. Good game out of Fritsche as well - the kid was really working hard out there and had couple decent looks.

Whelp..on to tomorrow. Hopefully this team can respond and take two of the 4 points on this road stint.

Rusty seemed to be as responsible as berard, IMO.

Zherdev last year
57g 13goals 21 a 34pts -11

Z this year
43 13goals 13 a 25pts -12

not the worst 2nd year by a pro ever, so far. He could start puting up some numbers.

yea, and hey hoser, what about old nasher with another assist eh?

get off berard. If he is guilty of anything, its pushing to hard when the team is behind and the Offense is dead.

If we were not so out of position we wouldnt take so many penelteis. When we take penelteis the team offensivly looses focus. when the team has lost focus, and key players are tired from killing the penelty the coach jumbels lines trying to get guys on the ice. IMO our jumbled lines contribute to the team loosing an edge so to speak. Then the team has to deal with working its way out of the whole.

Well, p00p!

The D looked weak - Hainsey had probably his poorest game since joining the team (of the games I've seen, at least), and too many D-men are trying to do too much. The Jackets urgently need Foote back, and I wouldn't mind seeing Richardson again, too.

Offense seemed OK, two goals, a few decent chances, but nothing special. Oh well, playing on the road against a defending cup champion, a two goal loss is not heartbreaking. They made a decent effort to get a point out of it, and let's hope they bounce back strong tomorrow night.

About what I expected although I'm still disappointed. Lecalvier's goal was pretty weak and diminished an otherwise stellar night from Denis. Nash didn't look right tonight; everyone has an off night but I think that ankle is still nagging at him.

On the positive note, while the CBJ lost, I can state definitively that we don't have the worst announcers in the league since they reside in Tampa. Total homers, couldn't pick up the call on replay, let alone live. They made a frustrating evening thoroughly unenjoyable.

He is a bad dman...almost always has bad numbers +-....

here is a quote from TSN.

" His eye injury has limited his effectiveness, since his high-risk style tends to cost his team dearly. Needs to improve his defensive play and take the body with more consistency."

Sounds about right to me.

Oh Spacho...where are YOU!!!!!

I'll take berard any day of the week over spacho. Just my opinion, Berard's shot is out of spacho's league.

The Westcott-Berard pairing was horrible tonight. Klesla is my homeboy, but didn't play too well. Overall the d was lacking and we need Foote badly.

On the bright side the "shrivel up and die" Jackets were not around and they kept plugging.

Denis played a solid game. He always talks about how he is mentally tough and says in the paper it's easier to play up 4-2 then down 2-1 because of fear of the backbreaking goal. That doesn't sound mentally tough to me. I would attribute the goals tonight to bad defense, Denis stood on his head at time.

Zherdev's goal was very very nice.

Tend to agree with Pubstar on Berard..while I like his offensive instincts you cannot overlook a +/- of -24 The closest guy on this team is Richardson with a -15 yikes.

Tonight he really stood out as bad....on the St. Louis goal both he and Westcott pinched and we are only down 1 goal with 13 (give or take) minutes to go. No reason for that. Then, I can't remember who it was, but both Berard and Westcott were up the ice apparently b/c they thought the zone had cleared and Denis had to stop another breakaway. Then he was out there for the Lecavlier goal with Klesla.

So it wasn't just Berard tonight b/c as a whole the 'D' didn't perform well but for one reason or another Berard seemed to be out there for a lot of the breakdowns - some where the chances he was taking were totally unneccesary.

Oh well....I'm sure he'll score another hat trick tomorrow and I"ll be back here singing his praises

I dont feel that B-squared should be absolved of criticsm or blame. I feel that in a dream world he wold be our 5th defensmen on the third pair. I think he is a little over anxious to jump in, but thats his game. its the coaches job to tone that, and try to control that. I think on whole, the dmen were lost tonight. There were like 3 or 4 times were the defence had complete gaffs. uber gaffs without gravitas if you will, very problematic to our mission statement.

Gotta pin a large part of this loss on the D. Berard & Duvie were both caught pinching too often. I love Klesla but that Le'caviar goal was all him. We miss Foote & sad to say Richardson. These defensive turnovers just get me going.

Don't want to leave our forwards blameless though. Have they ever heard of the word "backchecking"? Feds was the only one IMO that works hard in the defensive zone. Except for some spurts in the beginning of the 2nd period we had no puck control. At no point in this game was I thinking "Wow, the Blue Jackets have really taken control of this game." We suck when we are behind a goal !!!
Anyone see Hulse start in place of Z at the start of the 2nd period? He was quickly off the ice but methinks old GG trying was trying to send a message.
