KOMISAREK: 15 minutes!!

Komi got 15 minutes tonight . When was the last time he received so many minutes?

Just wanted to know your opinions on how he played tonight? (vs Sharks). Unfortunately I missed the game.

Thank-you in advance.

dandenault on forward, if not defence, don't sit him.

if we're going to utilize our team speed like bg said, why sit our fastest skater?

Komisarek played well?

Sit Streit...he's not part of our future? (not sure).

Komisarek is a big part of the Habs future...

good idea, forgot that point..

Dandy - Bégin - Murray like 4th line ? Or we play with 13 foward ? dunno

sumthing like that is excepted :

Kostitsyn - Koivu - Kovalev (just dont work with Ryder..)
Ryder - Bonk - Bulis (Bonk & Bulis play well togheter)
Zednik - Ribeiro - Dandenault (Dandy and Zednik replace the lack of speed of Ribs)
Murray - Bégin - Sundstrom (energy line, or w/ ferland and w/o sundstrom..)

markov - rivet
souray - komisarek
bouillon - streit

To trade Komisarek would be similar to trading leclare

He had an ok game.. glad to see him get more minutes. I expected him to land more hits though.

I want to see him crush opponents more often. Hopefully, we'll see it in the next couple of games.

the thing about Komisarek is he lost his mother and he has no confidence right now, play him a lot and he will become the player he is supposed to be.

thanks.

Besides the bodychecking, I'm also sure in the near future if he gets PP time he will show everyone the big shot he has...

I think Komi had a solid game tonight, wasnt as panicky as usual. Habs need Komi to progress into the player they drafted him for. Hope he can become a big part of this team soon...

If everyone is playing well and Rivet is still ill, why not sit him and give hime some time to rest and get back to full health? Otherwise, im not sure who would get taken out, maybe have a revolving door situation for the last spot on D for the Habs and switch between sitting Bouillon, Streit, or anyone with slight injury. that way people stay competitive for places and we can keep someone nice and rested for the next game instead of tiring guys out like we did when we had all those injuries.

Replace Murray by Higgins, and Zednik by Ryder. Bulis-Bonk-Zednik is an effective line.

Kostitsyn-Koivu-Kovalev, the Special K line
However, I don't know if Dandy can play that well on offense

I'm assuming this line-up is taking into account that Plekanec is injured.

Otherwise, you've both forgotten him

Big shot but awfully slow release and I don't remember him hitting the net with it.

He'd be an awful PP choice in my very humble opinion. I prefer Streit, Rivet, Markov, Bouillon and Souray to him on the PP. Even Dandenault.

We should also add that Streit played 17:28 minutes tonight. Now that is impressive.

I thought Streit played a really strong game tonight. He's not big, but he worked hard in the corners and along the boards. He also blocked a few shots. His transition game is really starting to come along now. He's a real good skater, with a nice passing touch. He may be our best passer on D. He should shoot more since he's got a real nice accurate point shot and needs to use it more. Hopefully, he keeps it up.

Komisarek was average. He definitely has confidence issues right now. He's treating the puck like it's a cannonball. He tends to mishandle it alot...and is it just me or does Komer seem to fall/trip/mis-step alot? The kids needs a mentor.

The best thing about our D tonight was that everyone was involved in the offence. Instead of backpedalling off the offensive blueline the guys were keeping it in. And, except for Komer, every one of the D took the offensive lead and carried the puck into the offensive zone, or went down deep into the corner, or the front of the net.

That was the one thing that bugged me about Julien, despite the fact we have a good skating defence, he never seemed to get them activated in the offence. Gainey looks like he's going to give them the greenlight.

This will only help our offence, and guys like Boullion, Streit, Markov, Rivet, and Dandenault should be able to do it.

He's gonna get a regular shift now... 14-17 minutes a game rain or shine. Komi's gotta throw the body around a bit more, though, but that will come in time. If his progression in the next couple of years is only average, we can expect a Rhett Warriner type d-man but if his progression takes off than we're looking at Kubina or Mara type impact.

Thanks for your opinions

I think (IMO) from what I've seen from KOMISAREK in live practices and from televised games he will (at worst) be a dependable, good #4 defenseman.
At best, he can end up being a solid, physical #1-2 defenseman (with offensive upside).

Give KOMISAREK at least a year-and-half to two years to see all of this.

Komisarek played well, but Streit played better. The one problem I noticed with Komisarek's play last night was that his passes were often hard to receive, and/or he didn't always pass to to the right guy. There was one pass to Markov when two Sharks were bearing down on him (Markov urgently had to pass it back), and one pass to Kovalev when he was surrounded by sharks causing him to turn the puck over as soon as he crossed the Hab's blue line. In both instances Komi was in the clear, so he should have skated the puck out of the zone, or waited long enough for someone else to get clear. Hopefully these types of mistakes will go away as he gains experience and confidence.

Steit is liked by his teamates

Did you see when Streit scored his goal. The whole team was very excited for him. Im really starting to believe this guy can be a very good player for the Habs. Streit is really good with his angles and stick checking.
