Let's take the NFL ticket for example.

It is 6 payments of 44.99 OR one time payment of 269.94. No savings and no extra. But that's not the standard.

Now let's take insurance premiums as an example.

I either pay 136.99 for 6 months or a one time payment of 791.94 I pay extra because there is an extra 5 dollar fee for having a payment plan. The savings exist but not a huge massive amount.

Even NHL center ice for direct tv is the same. It has a monthly pricing model that equals the the one time payment.

Now let's take the xbox live model.

I dont mind paying extra for a monthly plan, but the difference is a massive 70 which is more than 50% of the one time payment.

All I am saying is that it is a terrible pricing model. It's not that hard to understand.

What's the incentive then to go with the direct tv model vs the NHL.TV model? NHL.TV pigeon holes you into annual payment plan. It's pretty inconvenient.
I wonder if their issues from last year aren't fixed, and if they want to lock people in as early as possible.

That would be my guess. Lock people in instead of giving them the opportunity to stop payment. Makes me doubt they've fixed the issues.

I just blew up on these people on the phone.

Charged me the full 131.49 (aren't even supposed to charged until tomorrow!) without giving me the option of monthly payments. I've been using GCL for 4 seasons and never have I had to deal with this ********. Asked for my money back and when I asked about the monthly payments they couldn't give me a ****ing answer. I'm done with NHL.tv

Where are you guys getting the option to purchase NHLtv to begin with? All I have is the offseason option.

Ditto. I think only the automatic renewals are funneling in now. We probably won't get a new subscription available until late this week or next week (I hope, since some preseason games will be available to watch).

SV is right. I don't think you can purchase it yet. I think they're doing renewals at the moment.

How often so you pay the monthly package? I read April somehwere. That would be 8x20 = ~ 160$ so more expensive than the yearly package.

Also the NHL TV Homepage is disgusting. As a web developer I cry everytime I visit it.

Does anybody else get serious video lag when casting to a device? Does anybody know a fix? Really annoying hearing "GOALL!!!!" when they haven't even gained the zone yet... :| Only way to fix it is exiting out and restarting the cast, and it happens all over again within ~15 minutes.

i don't remember - do they ever do a free preview for the first week or so? If the quality on xbox one is the same as last year after the 'upgrade' there's no way i'm giving them my money, and i guess I'll just skip watching hockey.

My god the NHL.tv subscription setup is absolutely terrible. I went to sign into my account to change my payment credit card and they wont let you see what card you have on file, you can just enter your card number and click update. It's not easy to find how to update either, basically had to go to the "support" section to get the link to update the card info. I have no idea if it was the same card I had on there before, or not.

It might be the worst payment setup I've ever seen on a website.

I've tried twice to pay for the year subscription and it timed out both times.

My nhl tv renewed for 118.34 due to having a discover card on file which gives you 10 percent off, my advice use a discover card , and you get 10 percent off.

It might be in some markets.
In the US all games are on ESPN so that's a national broadcast so they won't be here.

When I click on the link to start the stream, all I get is a black screen, definitely not working. I'm using chrome, any suggestions?
