Hey, what's gotten into Evgeny Gladskikh? the guy wasn't doing much for 6 games but has been of fire lately, I believe he has 8 points in 11 games now. Is it just a case of finally being given more ice time and better line mates?

thanks again.

I can't read Russian, so I shall ask... where is Konstantin Volkov playing right now and what do his numbers look like?

P.S... a link to his team or profile would be VERY appreciated!

Agreed as far as the nicest starts - those guys definitely doing well. Another name I would add to that list is Mirnov.

IMO, nicest starts so far this season (in terms of performance vs. expectations): Mikhnov, Kazionov, and Malkin.

It might help to have team mates Zherdev and Kosmachev coming over with him, as well as possibly Tachenko and Guskov....

According to russianprospects.com Alexander Polushin suffered a knee injury that will require surgery to repair. His recovery time is estimated at approximately 4 months. He may be ready in time for the play-offs.

His has been moved up to the third line alongside future top 10 draftpick Evgeni Malkin. That might have something to do with it.

Hey Spongebob, what are Malkin's stats at right now? Might he slide right into the 2nd spot in the draft behind Ovechkin, it'll be tough competition but all reports on him seem glowing.

2nd spot, maybe.....Top 5 pick, definitely.....He still has some maturing to do (both physically and mentally) to solidify a top spot.He has alot of tough competetion for the #2 spot though.

What type of league is this? What are typically 'good' numbers in this league (i.e. PPG?)? How would you compare it with the leagues in the NHL - is it more comparable to the AHL, OHL, etc.?

Thanks.

I like both guys but if I had to decide I would say that Zherdev is better suited physically to handle the rigors of the NHL.Kostitsyn tries to avoid physical contact and that is hard to do on the NHL's small ice.

The Upper League is most comparable to the AHL.The competition is not as tough as the Super League but there are some quality players to be found there.Generally a point a game (goals or assists) would be good numbers in the Upper League. Those same numbers would be considered outstanding in the Super League.

If possible, I was just wondering about a few FL prospects as I've been compiling all the prospect stats for the Panthers. Stats is primarily what I'm looking for but any opinion is also welcomed:

Denis Stasyuk
Denis Yachmenev
Dmitri Tolkunov
Vlad Sapozhnikov
Denis Khloptonov

Thanks in advance.

I have never seen yet a game of Superleague or Upper League. But I made interviews with a couple of players who played some games in NHL, in AHL and also in the Superleague. They both told me that the latter is comparable to AHL.
