The only ASG that doesn't stink is the MLB one, because duh.
Baseball all star game does not decide World Series home field anymore. It might get dull now but never like hockey. The hockey one is gross.Players need to pony money out of own pockets for a winner take all prize and then watch how serious they play.

I don't trust what Cherry is saying about half the CHL teams folding if they have to pay the players. He's much too close to some of the team owners.

It's funny the NHL owners said the same bs 50 or 60 years ago back when the NHL players were trying to form a union.

An independent study showed over half of teams are losing money with a few teams raking in most of the league's profit. Perhaps they could pay the players, but they would almost certainly then lose education packages and billet financial support among other things.

I think the education package would go but it's a joke anyway. It's theater, not a real benefit. Billeting would be tougher. After all, you're dealing with minors in some cases, plus you're almost always dealing with the player being away from home.

But again, as has been asked, how are teams selling for higher and higher prices if they are losing money to the degree they supposedly are. Why won't they just fold?

They were caught off guard tonight as Edmonton/Chicago finished a good 10 minutes ahead of Ottawa/Toronto

I typically don't watch Coaches Corner because Cherry can be a bit of a blowhard, but I was happy he gave some love to Burns last night. Every little bit helps.

I imagine as long as Don can somewhat coherently speak the english language, he will go on the air once in a while. We could still have another 1-2 full seasons of Don and Ron, and even after that I'm sure he will make as many appearances as his health will allow.
