Just banging their heads on the door without looking for a way around. Very disappointing. Only Traore had the skills to break through, but was up against 3+ guys each time. Younes couldn't even pass one guy. Although Valencia deserves the credit for that bit.

Lukaku costing 75mil

To United looks like

We need a striker with Zlatan leaving, but not sure about this.

If this goes to down to the rumoured price I should stop watching soccer.

PL-PL transfers will always be huge now that so much money is involved. Especially with homegrown players.
No-one needs to sell to raise a lot of funds.
Even someone like Michael Keane who is a so-so defender cost 30mil.
Homegrown players have a huge premium in the PL. And yes, Lukaku is considered one too as he came over so young.

Also lets not forget Barca paid €55mil for Andre Gomes (), Juve paid €90mil for Higgy, City €60mil for a defender who cant defend and United the same sum for Martial, and also United €105mil for Pogba.
These are the times now.
As revenues and profits go up with increased sponsorships and tv-rights costs, so do the player prices.

Mourinho said that Pogba will be seen as a cheap purchase in 5 years, and by the looks of things, he might not be that wrong.

Would you rather have Lukaku at 75m or Lacazette for 50m?

Barca paid 35 million for Gomes(sill too much but hardly comparable) the rest was incentives like winning multiple ballon d'ors.

Say what you will about Pipita in big games but for one Juve were buying out the competition and two bought the best goal scorer in the league.

The rest are insane and that's the problem.

Pogba might look cheap in 5 years( I really hope that won't be the case) but the bubble might burst before then. Making it look even worse.

I understood the Gomes deal was 35+20+15, with the last 15 being the multiple ballon dor and the first 20 being for appearances and goals+assists.
But in any case, I doubt he got very close even for those first 20 with his performances

"Valencia could receive up to €20m more [on the base sum of 35mil] depending on the number of games, goals and assists Gomes manages for his new team.

Barca would also have to pay their Spanish rivals a sum if they reach the Champions League quarter-finals or finish amongst the top four in La Liga, regardless of the player's performances.

The remaining €15m hang on Luis Enrique's team winning the Champions League in the next three years, or if Andre Gomes ranks among the top 10 in the Ballon d'Or shortlist in the same period.
"

Oh I understood the Higuain purchase, but man that was over the odds though. Still bought a competitors best player is never a bad way to ensure domination.

And we'll see about the prices yeah, they might stagnate, they might not.
I have no idea about that as I have no idea about the prospects of tv/ondemand rights or sponsorship payments.

And yes, 75mil plus Rooney to Everton (plus 15mil add-ons if we win titles) for Lukaku .

Huge sum of money and not worth it.
But we needed a striker, and only him and Morata on the (even close to sensible) market.
No sane man pays 80mil for Belotti.

I'd rather pay 80m for Belotti than 75m for Lukaku

I am a bit weary of him still, especially at that price.
United at least know they will get 20+ goals from Lukaku every season.

With Belotti there is more risk.
Have seen a lot of highlights of him and I really like him, but not for the prices that are being out there.

Although I think we overpaid by 30mil for Lukaku and I do not think he will be amazing here so
Would have preferred Morata of the choices available, but what can you do.
Will support my hardest and I hope Lukaku proves me wrong.

Belotti has everything physically and an excellent technical package to go with that tenacity to persevere.

I believe you have seen more of him than I have so I am gonna take your word here.
As I said only seen highlights.

Lukaku has never impressed me really. Some good glimpses here and there with his physicality, but every time he plays against United (disregarding his WBA days) he has always underwhelmed.

Even Daley Blind kept him quiet and Blind is like grassweed compared to Lukaku.

I dont think this is a good buy, but I would be even more weary had we bought Belotti for this price.
That might well be because Ive seen less of him and he has only played against Italian competition.

Also Parma Calcio made it to Serie B through the Lega Pro playoffs

My GF is from Parma so this is big news there, and very nice to see this.

It will be fine. The price is high, but thats how it goes these days. I wanted Griezmann more, or better to be said both him and Lukaku (with Mkhitaryan and Martial down the wings), but since that one was unavailable, Lukaku will do. Hopefully Griezmann next summer, or maybe some other better alternative, like Mbappe, Dembele, Neymar

And yeah, farewell Rooney. My fav united player after Ryan Giggs. Regardless of his recent **** performances and some contract disputes throughout his United career, still legend to me, one of the best players i had opportunity to watch in United kit. Hopefully in Rashford or Martial we have another player of his class in the making.

Am I evil? Only a friendly, but always puts a smile on my face when my Chelsea beat Stan Kroenke's Arsenal in any fashion. 3-0 Stan. Invest some time in your teams !
