He should be and hope he is, but lets be honest...Ballon D'or is such a joke of a trophy. Completely staged and rigged, never watch nor care about who wins because there are no other players besides Ronaldo and Messi.

City only really attacked after barca pushed up and left Masch/Umititi by themselves on defence.
You say that, but with a forward core of Neymar, Messi, and Suarez...getting one goal against Man City with that backline and goaltending is kind of pathetic, IMO.

They weren't without chances, barca wasn't at their best even in the first half but I'm just objecting to the whole "kicking Barca's ass"

My hometown that plays in the 5th Slovak league is more entertaining than United.

I just said on the last page that Pogba needs a rest and I heard he limped off at 30 minutes...

Fortunately I had a good night out with my Swedish speaking friends here in Wroclaw rather than watched the game.

For my United friends here, Gerrard won't win the domestic league this year either

Hey D2M, I know you follow Barca and la liga more than I do, do you know what's up with Messi rejecting his latest contract offer?

No one really knows why. There's 2 theories one he wants to leave once, the contract is up(marca ofc) . THere's another saying he wants his tax fiasco all cleared before signing. Barca don't seem to be worried right now, saying negotiations will start in December.

I'm not worried, I've seen these things before.

The second one makes a lot of sense. Just wondering if there was anything specifying I missed.

Messi has accomplished everything he can at Barcelona and needs a new challenge. He should come over to the best league in the world, and join the Colorado Rapids.

Both options are better than City or any other team that is relevant in Europe.

I was thinking Arsenal.

AJ is back? One step closer to bringing back my old buddy JB.

Yup, some awful stuff...apparently the plane ran out of fuel. Makes it even worse.

I just watched the video of one of the players finding out he'll be a father days before the crash. I'll post it in the main other sports thread just because I think everyone should watch it.

I hate Chelsea with every ounce of my being, but that tackle by Aguero was one of the more brutal ones that I've seen. Even my brother who dislikes football was watching the highlights and had a gasp after seeing that. That is a tackle which can break legs IMO. It was obviously a built up of frustration and he unleashed it stupidly on Sideshow Bob, deserves FA's punishment.

Now on the topic of Arsenal, I cannot believe that Harry Kane was considered to be Player of the Year before Sanchez. Even when Alexis wasn't really fit like last season due to Copa America, he was still one of EPL's best players. Now though, there is no excuse for the football writers and journalists to nominate him as one player for POTY award. He's in simply unbelievable form right now.

Alexis at striker is working out well

Eddie Howe is the greatest manager alive. It was cool to see Klopp congratulate Ibe after the game while Pep completely ignored Cesc

Fun fact, Jamie Vardy hasn't had a shot on goal since September. His one year run is over. Leicester ****ed up by not selling him when they had the chance.

Wow really?
Also I thought Leicester accepted the bid, but Vardy decided to stay.
It was Mahrez they were keeping with tooth and nail.
