With Ninnima (sp?) traded to the Stars, I just noticed that the Stars now have 6 Finns on the roster (Lehtinen, Miettenen, N. Kapanen, Jokinen, Hagman and Ninnima (sp?))! They must really love the Finnish work ethic and style of play. I know I do!
This is like the Rangers and the "Czech Mates." They have Jagr, Rucinsky, Straka, Prucha, Malik, Rozsival and Sykora. The same could also be said for San Jose and its affinity for Germans, etc.
To conclude, Finland is a great country (been there once to Turku - gorgeous city in winter). I loved everything! And Finns are very nice people and great hockey players as well (I always cheer for Finland even though I'm Canadian - Suomi works hard for every win),
Now NHL has its own Finland-Sweden game when Detroit (Lidström, Samuelsson, Holmström, Franzen, Zetterberg, Kronwall, Lilja) face Dallas. Last time Dallas and Finland won
In a local Montréal newspaper, a journalist mentionned that when the Stars played here last week, Koivu invited all 6 Finnish players to dinner at his house on Nuns' island, an exclusive island just off Montréal. The journalist, who's a bit of a biggot towards Europeans and anglophone players, asked 'when's the last time Koivu invited 6 Canadiens' players for dinner at his house?'
I don't know how serious ya'll are being about the best Fin will be/was a Thrasher; unfortunatley Timmonen is the only Fin on their team if I am not mistake. Vokoun is Czech. And why trade Arnott for Koivu, if anyone Olli Jokinen. He is only 28 still I believem and has the skill.

Well as long as it was 6 finns and not 6 swedes... We really need him at Turin. Besides the situation can be defused by wearing a Charles de Gaulle t-shirt, mumbling about how evil Vaclav Prospal is in public and by saying that Jacques Villeneuve really is better than Schumacher. Having a terrible garlic breath doesn't hurt either. He'll do just fine.
