Prucha - Real Deal?

Can rangers fans fill me in - Is Petr Prucha the real deal or is he scoring because of the chances created by the great plaeyrs around him? What kind of ceiling do you see for him points-wise? I haven't been able to catch any games this year so i have no idea if he's the one creating the scoring chances or just in the right place at the right time. Nevertheless, 21 goals for a rookie who started off real slow is still impressive

He's created a number of chances and he really only played with the better players (like Jagr) on the PP. He played with a bunch of grinders on the third line and later on the second line with Rucchin (really a third line guy) and Rucinsky (hasn't played that well since his injury), until the Sykora signing. All that said, I notice that he's not a guy that gets a million chances a game, but is pretty accurate and knows how to finish. So while he's screwed up a few times (like everyone does), often when he gets a chance he scores and that's why he's been scoring. Basically he makes his chances count usually.

his scoring hasn't been a fluke, but i'm not entirely sure what his ceiling is. he was really hot for awhile, hasn't been as hot lately but then again the team has been struggling...i'm interested to see how he does next year. but he does a lot more than just score too so it's always great to watch him play

Prucha will probably turn into a very good 2nd line player, as a goal scoring Sniper type. maybe max 70 points a season

I wonder how much of that has to do with Renney playing him and Sykora out of position? It makes me scratch my head. Prucha is a LW, playing on the RW. Sykora is a RW, playing on the LW. Why? They play on the same line, why is it necessary to play them out of position?

Yeah I've seen them playing in their proper positions as well. Not sure what youre seeing here. As far as Prucha is concerned, I would think that even if what we are seeing right now is his ceiling, every Rangers fan would be more than happy. That being said, as an undersized rookie still learning the NA game, I think there is much room for improvement in his game. Barring any injuries he will be a significant contributor to the Rangers future without a doubt.

Prucha has scored all types of goals. One timers, tap ins, wrist shots from the faceoff circle, diving for a loose puck at the goal mouth, using his speed to break away and duke the goalie. He seems to have the uncanny ability to find the place where the puck will be. The Rangers use him in their shootouts and it's here that you really see his natural offensive abilities. I think he's the real deal.

he's a gutsy, scrapy and at the same time skilled player. I feel like he has the potential to be a 40 goal scorer in the coming years if he remains healthy. he's more of a goal scorer than play maker.

prucha is a very very good player, the only thing is, hes very small, he takes his checks well, but in time it will wear him down, he needs to be more like bure, pick and choose his spots. prucha like to play right in front of the net, which is where you get a ton of goals, and also where you get flattened.

hes willing to pay the price, but how long before the price is his career :-/
