LaBarbera never had the puck. What appeared to me to happen is that the puck rebounded off of his chest and Petiot tried to grab the puck with his glove, but ended up batting the puck into the net, instead. That's a major rookie mistake that I hope that he learns from

What is Petiot doing in the crease anyways? If he isn't out of position, that puck goes wide.

While he shouldn't be so close he can hump the goalie, Petiot was generally in the correct position for where on the ice the shot came from (and where the opposing forwards were positioned).

Way too many guys in the lineup right now that couldn't score a goal if they had an open net:
Gleason
Cowan
Ryan
Parros
Kostopoulos
Giuliano
Avery's gotta learn to not shoot everytime. Weak wristers from 40 feet out aren't always the best plays.
Debbie Downer!
Always put the puck on net! That's how rebounds happen.
as for Petiot........he stapled that fat *** Mellanby in the boards just previous to that goal. That's why Mellanby was talking crap. Fluke goal, but he shouldn't be down about it..........**** happens........and he may be a bit nervous. Playing him with Matti is the safer bet.
Funny how Mellanby and Sutton like to deliver hits, but when it's the other way around, they act like *****es!

Yup! Put him on with Matti, not the human turnover machine.
LOL @ "thats how rebounds happen"
No **** pal. But theres no point in taking a weak wrister from the blueline when you can skate in a couple of strides and actually make it a quality scoring chance.
Labs could have stopped all 3 so far. But that goal was mainly Corvo's fault. He should not have been trying to force the puck back into the offensive zone when he was the last D-Man back.
