I think we hope it's Buchnevich as he has the highest ceiling of the three.

Vesey is probably worst-case because this defensive corps really needs Brady Skjei to be a top 4 guy.

I'll be optimistic and pick Buchnevich because I think he gets force-fed PP time.

Skjei. Will establish himself as a legit top-4 d-man.

I think the results of this poll would be very different had it been posted after the first regular season game. (Though I still probably would've gone with Buch.)

i hope so..he was ok last night. i didnt think he was as good as some people did, but he was leaps and bounds better than he was in the preseason.

i think he can be a bit aggressive in the offensive zone..which is fine, but hes gonna have to learn when to pick his spots...

if you are aggressive but dont do anything with it (see Staal, Marc) then its kinda worthless...if youre going to be up in the play, you better start putting up points.

Still think this has a chance if Pavel stays healthy the rest of the year, & it may be time to get Vesey some AHL work when Puempel gets back.

5 points since 12/1. 20 games, 27 shots on goal. 4 shots on goal in 6 games this month. Trend not looking good right now.

Buch has been very promising in my opinion and the best Rookie season so far with 13 pts on 13 attempts even though he played mostly with our top quality players among top 6 of our forwards.
Skjei also surprised me positive this year even with a bad game last night, but overall a very good progression - 2nd place.
Vesey also - I did not expect anything from him, a solid season so far from him - very positive overall, and he can only be better!

Shouldn't be too surprising. Happens to NCAA players fairly often. The schedule is way more than they are used to.

He has to sit or go to the AHL.

no but like, he's been baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. this isn't just a stretch of ineffectiveness. he has legitimately not done anything in a while.

This is the reason why. There is a huge difference between 3 games a week against grown ups (Buchnevich) and 1 game a week against 21 and 22-year olds (Vesey).

As I suspected early on in this thread, Vesey if used too much was gonna flame out, he's not used to playing this much, and at a higher level no less.

Buch if we're going off PPG. Vesey if games and everything but I firmly voted for and believe Buchnevich if he didn't have to strengthen and condition/back issue

I'd like to see him be given a week or two off. He needs it. Most college kids do.

Vesey would look alot better playing in the top 9,not on the 4th line.Problem is the lineup is so deep, there is no room for him there

The coaches are at least giving him the chance, he has to make the best of it on one of those lines.

FWIW, it seems like you were right a few weeks/months ago when you said he's not yet able to create his own offense yet

Yeah but Vesey isn't playing with grunts on the 4th line Pirri is a skill player and Fast is having a much better year he's played on top lines in the past. Should be a third line on most teams

Vesey just hasn't done anything in a while. I didn't hear his name once last night
