Can we send the Buffalo Sabres down to play in Rochester, and bring the Amerks up to start the season for us next year? Then 10 games in, when 3/4's of the team are injured, we can "call up" our farm team players and have a solid roster the rest of the year. Pull the ol' switcharoo.

Yes, Ennis seems to be a sports hernia. The recovery sounds much shorter than when Briere had his 10 years ago.

So in just the first 15 games we have Eichel, Kane, Bogosian, Ennis all missing significant time, and O'Reilly and Kulikov dealing with recurring injuries. Update - my confidence in this team improving their point total from last season is day-to-day, possibly week-to-week.

I'd rather have the injury bug now rather than in March.

Those oblique strains normally take up to six weeks without re-aggravation and ROR already tried rushing or playing through it once, so I chuckle at the optimism of day-to-day. I almost wonder if we could see Eichel back first as he works through week six of his rehab. I just hope the woes on the ice don't rush either back and then we have to witness the prolonged effects of their lingering injury the rest of the season.

Hey, it just pumps up the value of our first pick in the 2017 draft.

The "injury bug" is not like chicken pox - just because you get it now does not prevent it from happening again later on in the season. The Sabres are just as likely to be as banged up as everyone else in March.

What's the deal with Kulikov? I'd also imagine that Bogosian should be back skating soon.
