Stars on the verge of losing second in a row.

It's nice to know the Kings are taking advantage of the situation.

Actually I have a feeling the Stars could go on a 10 game losing streak and have no need to worry about the Kings overtaking them.

You realize they're going to win now, right?

I wonder how badly they'll beat the Kings.

Maybe they will fell sorry for the Kings and at least let them get an OT point.

But in reality it will probably be another double digit goals against night.

Kings need to get healthy fast for any of this to matter.

That was kind of the point of the thread. When the Kings were on a hot streak the Stars were equally hot and the Kings could not distance themselves from them. Now that the Stars have been struggling the past few games the Kings are struggling just to ice an entire roster. It just seems that the fates are against the Kings and their fans.

At least I won't be able to make the game, I gave my tickets to a co-worker due to a prior commitment. I will be home in time for the end of the game, but I don't think I will be able to turn on the tv...

Yeah you're right. I just kind of posted off the top of my head based on the title of this thread. Anyway, at least we agree.

Hopefully we can win tomorrow to stem the tide a little. I'd gladly cycle wins and losses at this point.

Has anyone else decided to just get drunk and not care about the score at the games anymore? I called a 4-1 loss to TB the other night and proceeded to just sit there and get hammered. Win or lose, there's always booze.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Cause the Kings are gonna get plastered tomarrow night. I'm guessing 6-1.

The Kings will beat the Trash by 2.. One being an empty netter. The odds are stacked against Atlanta.. the Pre-game rap is 9-1-1.

Personally I think the Kings are going to lose, but it should be noted that AM's game plan had best be to key on Modry

PP Atlanta: Modry passes the puck to Savard...to Kovalchuk..shot high on the left glove side...goal.

I'm afraid this is what we're going to see tonight.

Yeah, but instead of telling the boys to exploit Modry's defensive ineptness like any of us would do, AM will be telling them to watch and contain Modry because he's such an explosive and gifted player . I imagine that, in his pre-game talk, he'll have "Kovalchuk" written on the board and, right below that, "Modry"

In a related note.....am I the only person who thinks that Turco is overrated? Tonight he gave up 4 goals in the first period on 10 shots. This is not an isolated incident. He has done this on at least 5 occasions this season. Paying a guy $5 million+/season to get pulled from the game 10% of the time just doesn't make sense to me.

Remember those *****ing about the Stars acquisition of Niinimaa? Check out his production since the trade (let alone over the course of the season). And the Stars are going to regret giving Turco that big fat contract, just as they are kicking themselves for the Bill Guerin signing (which has not paid off).

I was one of the ones whinning about Niinimaa.....but not because of who he was....more because it showed me that there are other GM's who are willing to deal to "attempt" to improve their team. Even when they are in first place.

In regards to Turco's contract.....

Here are his stats since signing the extension.

Wins:2
Losses:2
GAA:3.92
SV%:86.9

Not the stats of a $5 million goalie IMO

Aside from Turco's stats since signing his contract... observe his playoff performances.

And Dallas may have had the right intent, but they targeted the wrong player in Niinimaa.

Go

I'm sure that DT will make a trade close to the deadline, but I don't know if it's going to turn out well.

I may get flamed for what I am about to say but here it is.

I think when a GM makes a trade their intentions are to improve their team. This is not always the case but you have to at least give credit for the effort. The fact that their has been no trades from the Kings indicates one or more of the following to me.

1. Taylor and/or upper management think this team is good enough to win the cup.
2. Taylor and/or upper management has no intentions on making a push for the cup.
3. Mediocrity has become so accepted in the organization that to attempt to stray from the norm frightens those in charge.
4. This is about making money for the ownership no more no less. If the Kings happen to get past a round in the playoffs.......good for them.

At this point if Taylor just acquired a 3rd line checker I would at least think that he is doing something......Other than scheduling Petiot for his 6th plane trip in the last 2 weeks.
