Yeah they got pummeled. Canisius was a little more respectable.

[BN Rinkside] Five things to know as @GriffsHockey travels to No. 19 Penn State.
#4 - Defense At The Ready - The Griffs will need a solid game in goal. The Nittany Lions average 38.60 shots per game.
(LaxSabre - Griffs did get a solid game in goal - Urbani allows just 3 goals - made 61 saves! Nittany Lions had their average shots per game - 38 - early second period!)

Game Recap - Urbani 61 Saves In 4-1 Loss At Penn State - Friday, October 28 - GoGriffs.com -
http://www.gogriffs.com/ViewArticle....B_OEM_ID=20500

Freshman goaltender Daniel Urbani stopped 61 shots including 29 in the first period, moving his record to 0-2-0 on the year.
Urbani’s 61 saves tie a school record for saves in a game set by Andrew Loewen in the 2006-2007 season.
(LaxSabre - Another ouch! - makes all those saves and he just ties the record.)

I see Atlantic Hockey has returned to its form of being pummeled by OOC foes.
We will see in December if RIT can steal a point from Providence, who seems to be off to a somewhat shaky start compared to last year.
RIT won a solid game, bringing its conference record to 2-1-0. (really should be 3-0-0 but dumb penalties killed them against Robert Morris)

Nice sweep for RIT. I don't think Bentley's in the top tier of teams in the conference, but they aren't bad either. RIT took care of their 5-1 lead this time when going for the sweep

Game Recap - Jaeckle Scores/Williams Shutout - Canisius Defeats RIT 1-0 - Friday, November 4 - Canisius College Athletics Website.

Canisius sophomore Alex Jaeckle scored the game’s only goal with less than a minute left to play in the first period and senior netminder Charles Williams made it stick by stopping 41 shots as the Golden Griffins defeated long-time rival RIT 1-0 in KeyBank Rink at HarborCenter Friday night. The win moves Canisius to 3-5-1 overall and 2-0-1 in Atlantic Hockey action, while the Tigers fell to 3-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in league play.

Canisius scored the game’s lone goal at the 19:07 mark of the first period after sophomore Felix Chamberland snapped a shot that got knocked down by an RIT defender. The puck bounced into the slot and onto the stick of Jaeckle, who fired on net and beat RIT goalie Mike Rotolo for his first goal of the season. Chamberland and freshman forward Matt Hoover were credited with assists on the Griffs’ goal.

Next Canisius Game - Canisius and RIT will close out their weekend home-and-home series Saturday, November 5, when the two teams meet in RIT’s Gene Polisseni Center in Rochester, New York. Faceoff is set for 7:05 pm ET and the game will be televised LIVE on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet Buffalo's backup channel. (LaxSabre - Game will also be televised LIVE in Rochester area on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet Rochester's backup channel.)

RIT was swept. Too bad, RIT skated much better than Canisius but the Griffs have a solid goalie, and are really good at sweeping away rebounds to deny strong second Chances, so despite being outshot 2:1 they won.
Also they are two very physical teams.

Yeah, really impressive weekend by RMU beating #11 Ohio State on Friday with a 6-2 win and then coming out with a tie on Saturday. Also, Sacred Heart tied UNH 2-2 on Friday. Atlantic Hockey seems to be having a very good out of conference year which is HUGE for conference. You could already start to notice in the pairwise rankings.

Also, a nice sweep for Canisius over the two time defending Atlantic Hockey league champ RIT, capping off the sweep with the victory being at RIT Saturday.

Canisius remains only undefeated team in Atlantic Hockey conference play going into the weekend vs Army.

Game Recap - Williams Stars Again As Canisius Sweeps RIT - GoGriffs.com - Saturday, November 5.

Senior goaltender Charles Williams tied his career-high in saves with 43, while freshman Casey Jerry scored his first career goal, as the Canisius College defeated RIT 2-1 from the Gene Polisseni Center in Rochester, New York on Saturday night. With the win, Canisius owns a 4-5-1 overall record, moving them to 3-0-1 in Atlantic Hockey action, while RIT falls to 3-5-1 overall and 3-3-0 in league play.

The Griffins jumped out to a 1-0 lead with Jerry scoring at 9:29 of the first period, after a pass off the boards from sophomore Jimmy Mazza. Canisius was outshot 16-5 in the period, but Williams held RIT scoreless for a 1-0 advantage after one. RIT would tie the score at 11:33 of the second period, with a goal from senior Caleb Cameron and the score remained at 1-1 heading into the third.

The Blue and Gold would take the lead early in third period of play on a goal by sophomore Josh Gabriel on a rebound off of a shot by fellow sophomore Matt McLeod. Holding the 2-1 advantage, the Griffins defense stepped up down the stretch, killing off three penalties including a game misconduct on sophomore Alex Jaeckle that came with 1:38 remaining. Williams, who ranked fifth in the nation in goals against average heading into the contest, made 15 saves during the third period to earn his fourth win of the season. Williams is now 4-2-1 on the year, while RIT goaltender Mike Rotolo fell to 3-5-1. Neither team scored on the power play on Saturday, as both teams were 0-for-4 on the man-advantage.
