Not WNY, but UVM won the Second Annual Friendship 4 in Belfast, making Hockey East 2-0 in Belfast against the ECAC (UML won last year)

@NiagaraUHockey - We're doing a Teddy Bear Toss at Saturday's game vs @RITMHKY! Bring a teddy bear and toss it on the ice when we score our first goal!
(LaxSabre - Hopefully they do better than the Buffalo Beauts did earlier this season - they were shutout and had to throw their stuff animals after the game ended.)
(Update - They did do better than the Beauts - even scored the first goal of the game. Unfortunately for the Purple Eagles - they went on to lose the game 6-2 to the Tigers.)

Not sure I've ever heard an announcer say anything as far off the mark as the PBP guy tonight comparing RIT's system to trap era New Jersey's.

And I have to suffer through John D'Tullio as RIT's TV announcer.

Some fortunate bounces (and poor Niagara goaltending) for sure tonight, but they were also clearly the better team - as they have been almost every night in Atlantic Hockey play. Might have been a little bit of an overreaction pulling Teichroeb after that awful 3rd goal. A timeout might have been the smarter course of action.

I know this is a D-1 thread...but how about giving D3 Buffalo State their due as well? They're 8-2-1 overall, 6-2 at home and 4-1-1 in SUNYAC?

AND they're nationally ranked, too(10th in the D3hockey.com poll and 11th in the USCHO poll)-highest rankings they've ever received.

The Bengals are hosting Cortland on Friday and Oswego on Saturday to end the fall semester(the Cortland game is on TWCS if you can't make it out there).

I can't fathom that neither Buff State or UB have DI Hockey Teams. I get UB is delusional and is focusing on Football as it they can be relevant in that sport, but Buff State?

Buff State is DIII in everything else and it's not like any of the other SUNY colleges have DI teams in anything. No idea why you'd be surprised they're DIII in hockey.

UB had NCAA Division I hockey until 1988 . . . when they dropped it for football. Great move, UB. Great ****ing move.
