As a Mets fan I have mixed emotions. On one hand I have to be glad for the Cubbies. On the other hand I know if we had won the wild card game we would've beaten them because we just had their number. And now Cespedes is leaving thanks to the Wilponzis (and probably to the Nats to boot) and it's back to another decade of losing baseball.
I happened to be in Chicago last weekend with my midget team and saw the emotional roller coaster that the locals were on with this series. Folks flew in from everywhere to catch a game or two. Not just at the stadium but to be cheering with their buds and family for the Cubs.
Cubs gear everywhere. Street corner sales tents all over. Signs hung cheering the Cubs on. I know that's not unusual but all I could think was this is how it will be in Buffalo when the Sabres win the Cup.
Just watched this. Awesome video, didn't expect to see a childhood friend in there.
Since Chicago has won countless sports championships over the years I find it hard to feel bad for them. I suppose there are some people who are only Cubs fans, so good for them. IMO if/when Buffalo gets a championship it will be 10x more epic.
