He looks very similar to how Lindberg and Fast looked at the end of their AHL career: better than all others, dependable in all 3 zones. I have no doubt he can play in the NHL right now as a top-12 regular.
Thanks Beacon.

On Hrivik, what I just miss so much in his game is like those times like were he is about to make a play, and that he instead of going with the flow of the AHL would look up and go like oh we are making a line change now and so is the other team, better to move the puck back to our Ds here and keep possession instead of giving the puck away with a dump in.

Like not that he is making dumb plays. But I just miss that heady dimension to his game. Think that is the reason Lindberg and Fast are in the NHL and Hrivik is not.

The organization loves him. Not many character issues nor guys that can't defend ever came out of Hartford since Kenny took over.

Issue with Kenny is that he doesn't produce top 6 talent. Kenny is great at teaching kids defense, but his teams never score much.

It's a question of what you want the AHL coach to do.

Rangers historically play the kids that can score right away or early. Kenny hardly gets a shot with them.

The JT Miller you see now was the JT Miller in HFD. Hayes, Buch, Jimmy... Kenny ain't coaching them.. So it's hard to say the guy doesn't produce top 6 talent.

Anisimov, Cally, Dubi... Paranteau, Marchessault... Those are Kenny guys.

This Kenny hate is just a board narrative. HFD runs the same system as NYR. It just looks bad at times because it's a lesser league with lesser skaters.

In case anyone is interested, Brandon Halverson makes his first AHL start tonight since him and Skapski did the switcheroo. Also, Fogarty is playing between Kovacs and Stromwall so that is either really good for Fogarty, or Kenny G has a kids fourth line.

Halverson looked bad on the last goal, IMO. Blocker side under his arm. Tied 2-2.

Halverson let in 2 goals on 4 shots in the 1st period. Didn't see the first goal, but think he should have saved the 2nd goal.

Fogarty just lost a fight to someone who is 6'6". One punch was pretty hard to the side of the head...but it may have hit his helmet and Fogarty looks OK. Fogarty was taking exception to a hit on one of his teammates...but I'm not sure which one.

FYI.....Hartford is 5 for 50 on the PP this year. 29th in the AHL. That's awful, lol.

Mat Bodie got his ass handed to him in a fight.

We can't do anything. We can't fight, can't work a PP, can't work a PK, can't stop pucks from going in the goal. It's hella frustrating.

Hartford lost 5-2.

Halverson needs to stop the puck and stop tweeting about Trump making America great again.

Hartford just had a long 5 on 3 and couldn't score. Lots of perimeter passing, but little penetration. Couldn't get any quality inside shots or rebounds.

After the 2 minutes of 5 on 3, Hartford got another 2 minutes of 5 on 4. Still couldn't score.

Hartford just lost in OT 3-2. Utica is an awful team, too. We still have only 1 Regulation win all year.

Wolfpack started slowly last year too (which is an understatement) but played very well in the 2nd half of the season. And it's not surprising since the makeup of the team is quite different and there are a lot of inexperienced players.

Plus, the goaltending has been horrible--some of this is on Hellberg.

Hartford has a PP% of 9.8% and a PK% of 72.9%. Both stats are second worst in the league. Our special teams are abominable.

Hartford also has given up the second most goals in the AHL.

Their goal differential is -20. That is worst in the league.

If I can find a positive team stat....I'll let you know, lol.

Wow, this team is absolutely brutal and probably off to the worst start in a decade.

Coaching staff should probably be fired to change things up.

The whalepack with 12 SOG in a 3-0 loss today, wonder if the goalies should be taking shots on net from the crease....
