We need a good second liner & defense...

I live in montreal and all my life i was a king fan..but we need to face the facts..if Demitra gets hurts or belanger.. our team seems lost and with no offensive help...also a good defense would help on the power play..with Vinny injured..
WHO would come to LA???

I've been saying this all season long.

IF DT makes a trade, it will be for someone who's cheap. I think you could narrow it down from there.

Roenick will be back maybe as early as this weekend. There's the second liner...

Defense? The team was screwed on depth before the season started...

The d depth on thsi team is so weak its scary. Gleason's graduated, Grebeshkov could be next, then Petiot, then after that all we have is Baier who's still in college, the Fast boys, and Mormina. I predict that DT will draft a few d-men in this years draft.

We drafted mostly d-men last year. I don't see that happening again.
I would be in favor of going light on the goalies and drafting 1 or 2 more d-men than usual.

Yeah but I dont know, none seem close to being ready. Maybe he'll sign a few free agent d-men?

Right now, Petiot is closer to L.A. than you think. He should be there in time for dinner...

Wouldn't know that, but he looks big in warmups.

Makes sense... Couple Miller still being out with Grebs -5, and the "reward" system would indicate that Petiot's number might come up vs. the Bolts...

The problem is that the highest one that they picked (T.J. Fast) was at #60 and he's likely 4-5 years away. After that was Patrick Hersley at #139 (and two more D immediately after that). The last time the Kings drafted a defenseman that high who ended up having an NHL career was 1993 (I'm looking at the draft history right now). The Kings need more defensemen drafted in the first 2-3 rounds, not late-rounders.

I'd much rather have him over Weaver.

He's sure racking up the frequent flyer miles. Maybe, just maybe, he'll see some ice time.

Barring injury, I just don't see it happening. I've watched them both, Weaver's your better option at this point...

I predict Hersley will be playing for us in 3 years. Most reports are really favorable about this kid. So, I'm calling my shot, and he'll be playing in LA in 08'-09'. To quote the great Jose Lima "Believe it"

If I was the Kings I would look to draft a D man and a goalie in the first two rounds next year and then add a center or two.

maybe get someone from nashville. with legwand coming back they are too many fwds....if LA can get their hands on Hartnell, he will fit in right.

What can LA give up?
