More Warm Fuzzies

Setting a record no one wanted:

"The Mighty Ducks' 0-4-0-1 start is the longest winless start by a team that reached the Stanley Cup finals the previous season, according to Elias Sports Bureau. By losing, 4-3, in overtime to Boston on Sunday, the Ducks passed the Detroit Red Wings of 1966-67, who started 0-4, and the New Jersey Devils of 2001-02, who started 0-3-0-1."

Hooray.

chistov was playing with Pahlsson all last year
the line in the playoffs was Chistov-Pahlsson-Thomas

It's the D's fault. Especially (though it's hard to say one is worse than the other) Sauer. I say they call up Popovich, (SP?)

And the Bruins took two dives in a row to get penalties against the Ducks. (There is no way in the world that Thornton, knowing Salei is on him, could get smashed against the boards like that; Samsonov let his legs fall out from under him the next play) I don't blame them for the dives, (it helped them tie the game) it's technically a good play if you can get away with it.

And no more missing empty nets.

The Bruins were smart enough to know that refs, being wrongheaded idiots, were dying to make a call against the Ducks, and they made it easy for the refs to do so.

Its Popovic.

The start has been horrible, but you couldn't ask for a better schedule for the rest of the month in terms of getting things turned around. With games games against SJ, Chicago, New York, Washington, and Buffalo you've got to like the chances of ending Oct close to .500. Of course the Ducks usually find a way to disappoint so we'll see...

Sadly a .500 October would be about our best ever.

Actually the next 10 or 12 games are pretty light, if we can get our crap together in time.
