It changes nothing. The actual french canadians were canadiens in the 19th century because the english canadians were not liking this name. The habs name will stay the same for history reasons. And hockey is far from important when it comes to a country chasing his liberty.

Liberty? How are you not free or have a large degree of autonomy?

Do you want control over education? You have that!

Control over health? Got that too.

We still operate under the Napoleonic code. So we have that as well.

Ah, you must want your own national assembly.... Well it is right there in Quebec city.

So how are you not free. It is reactions like yours that disgust me. A sovereigntist without any knowledge of why you want to seperate.

I am a Quebecois born and raised... maybe it is living in Montreal that has grounded my views on this great province and not led me to extremism.

I voted NDP. Not that I think they'll win and I don't feel like I've thrown my vote away. The more votes they get the more money they will and hopefully grow stronger.

Sadly I'm expecting Harper to be our next PM. Baby Bush Jr. is the last person I want to see in office.

I want my country to vote his own laws and administer all of his budget. You know, I think that Ottawa is too far from the Quebec regions and doesn't understand that we're a different nation, with different values, different culture, different history and, of course, different langages. I want my country to administer their own immigration policies to help them to find a great place to live anywhere in the Quebec, not just in Montreal.

The Constitution thing will never be resolved and there will always be tensions betweens Québécois and Canadians. I think it will be better to talk to each nothers from nation to nation, country to country.

I know why I want the Quebec to be a country. I read a lot and watch a lot of politics. I'm very interested in documentaries, etc.

I respect your opinion and it's right in democracy that we don't have the same one.

For the final words, I will just say what is unifying us here : Go Habs Go !

I don't see why it is a good news, it only means another election in the next 18 months or less...

Ottawa is pretty much half-French, what are you talking about?

Those of you who voted in the Conservatives may be sorry one day. Hopefully they will do the solid things like cut taxes and preserve healthcare and pensions, but somehow I think they will do sensational things to get a majority vote next time. Whether Canadians accept that or not is to be seen. I have a bad feeling for the future.

lol, i was thinking the same thing. I just hope he doesn't add to the deficit and decrease spending in public health and education. Obviously by decreasing taxes and making all these promises, somethings gotta give.
