2005-2006 NY Rangers Player Rankings

Flyline did a great job on doing the Rangers prospect rankings for the past month, now I will do a ranking of current Ranger players to see who you guys think is the most important and what not. I will start with 6 guys. AFter that if you guys could post nominations for players to come onto the list for the next rankings. the poll will be open for about a day for each ranking.

It was close between Jagr and Hank....but Lundqvist's wave to the crowd during play early on in the season gave him the slight edge

I like how all the rangers come to center ice and raise their sticks to the fans, as well as the stars of the game throwing the game pucks into the stands. Shows real class and how important the fan are to the Rangers organization

I'm waiting for a framed picture of them doing that hits the market, that would be an awesome picture to have hanging in my room.

I feel like the question comes down to whether the rangers would be in playoff position with weekes starting, or with straka as the teams leading offensive weapon. Jagr accounts for a point on 46% of NYRs goals and 49 games in has 22 more points than the next guy. I believe with Jagr and no Lundqvist we're still in playoff position, and not the other way around, meaning I think Jagr is more valuable.

blackburn2727 is absolutely right on the mark. look what happened in the three games that Darius missed. the rangers lose twice, and beat pittsburgh. he brings a different aspect to the team than goals, etc. my list would be lunds, jagr, prucha, kaspar, straka, tyutin, ortmeyer, rucinsky, ward, malik, poti, and so on...and btw Weekes is Last- after the medical trainers, equipment managers, stickboys and what have you.

I voted Lundqvist but it's very hard to choose between Lundqvist and Jagr. These two, IMO, are equal in value to this team. If we didn't have Jagr but still had a great goaltender in Lundqvist, I don't think we'd be in the playoff hunt. If we had Jagr and an average goalie in net, we wouldn't be in the hunt either.

Jagr's scoring and playmaking ability are amazing and Lundqvist's goaltending has been solid and consistent. They are truly the glue that holds this team together.

Voted Jagr.

Think we're a .500 team without Lundqvist.

Think we're less than that without Jagr.
