Ouch. That's a case of... Well, if all goes well, he could be ready to play at the tail end of the season. Not only because the thing has to heal, but also because I don't think one can train very well with a broken sternum.

we didnt really have a place for him on our lineup this year
Byron, Patch, Lehkonen, Danault (if not playing C) are all lw. Even without Danault, he would be left on the 4th line.

Byron and danault can play C or RW, so his competition is Flynn and Carr and he's better than both.

Really tough break for the kid. It looked like he was finally going to get a chance to stay with the team for a bit and show what he could do. I really wanted him to get some NHL games in this season and I'm show he does too. He's RFA at the end of this year.

With Hudon getting injured after doing very well since his call up, DD is still going to be on the team until at least the trade deadline. Its seems like the love affair between Therrien and DD is meant to be.

Beaulieu had a broken sternum when Karlsson hit him in the playoffs season before last. I believe he was back in ~4 weeks.

Remembering having broken ribs, I can tell why there is no timetable though.

Keeping immobile as much as possible is a challenge and would effect recovery time.

Byron, Lehkonen and Hudon are all interchangeable, I'm not sure I'd put Lehkonen ahead off him at this point anyway. Byron can also play RW, Danault can play centre and injuries are a thing. There's no reason to assume Hudon would be stuck on the 4th line for the season.

This kid will not have it easy for the next few weeks.

Hopefully he doesn't get a cold.

Every time he coughs, laughs and especially sneezes, it will probably hurt.

And sleeping could be interesting too.

Hit with a puck in practice. I'd blame Desharnais, but he can't shoot that hard.

He tried to bodycheck Desharnais but he misjudged the height and DD's helmet hit his sternum

Truly, what happened is a puck deflected from a defenseman stick during an optional practice and hit him.
