Either one or the other. They think he needs to play a little bit before being called back. Or they absolutely do not believe in him whatsoever. With 2 centermen down, and even as a winger, a guy like Carr makes it over you.....goodbye Charles. Hoping you get a real chance elsewhere.

So let's hope it's the first possibility. Some time in the AHL before coming back.

Who knows, maybe they plan on giving him a couple games at C in the AHL before calling him back up.

I doubt it's related. If there was anything to read into the move it would probably be that the Desharnais injury isn't serious and that they're going to scrape by with DD-Plek-Mitchell for now.

No. It means they want Carr to play instead of Hudon. Hudon as a 13th forward is useless.

Actually, there is exactly one way I can rationalize this move : give the chance to Hudon to play some games at Center since he probably played zero games at C this season (anyone can confirm or infirm this?).

And if we call up JDLFR, I'll be speechless.

The issue with that is, including Hudon, we actually have 12 healthy forwards, provided that DD won't be dressed for... let's say, at least the next three games.

If DD is not injured, we have 12 forwards.

So you think Hudon is better, right now, than Desharnais ?

We are too small, let's call up McCarron OR another big guy.

I don't really think Hudon is in the Habs' future plans, but that's just a feeling obviously.

I do not want him either, he is not NHL material, not yet anyway.

I just mean that it would be slightly easier to figure out what's happening. If Hudon is sent down because DD will be available tomorrow, I perfectly understand the move. I'd rather have Hudon than Ghetto or Terry (or anyone else) to man the LW, but at least I can understand, since he'd mostly be a 13th forward (not what I'd do, again...)

If DD is out for a while (as in, won't be back this weekend at the very least), then I simply don't get it, unless the idea is to actually give Hudon some icetime at center.

hudon hasn't played center in over a year.

Ok. I thought Hudon had a broken sternum & was out long term? No way was anything broken probably just bruised.

Hopefully they just feel he needs some conditioning and will be back with the team soon.

You did not get the memo. It's called a micro-fracture now.
