If DD is out for a while (as in, won't be back this weekend at the very least), then I simply don't get it, unless the idea is to actually give Hudon some icetime at center.
My guess is Desharnais is ready to play next game.

the same argument can be made for Desharnais and plekanec, if not longer.

We baby our prospects way too much. You have two centers out, one of them is your #1 C... Im sure fans will understand if we play a kid that hasnt played C in a year.

and even then.. why send him down? wasnt he playign well before that freak injury?

i dont get it

Habs mgmt doesn't seem to be a big fan of Hudon, they've never given him more than a brief stint despite him succeeding.

Odd that the minute he's cleared for play, he gets sent down so quickly. I too am inclined to believe that perhaps they're not too keen about him but am not certain.

I wouldnt understand that kind of assessment without given the kid a chance.

I don't like sending him down but no way should he be at center since he's not played much of it at all even going back to his Q days if I recall correctly. Putting prospects in a bad position is not how I would want to handle them. He should be in the NHL imo but at LW.

Yes, it means that they prefer Carr than Hudon.

I personally don't know why they pick Carr over Hudon. Carr has been nothing special this year so far.

The only thing that makes sense is of they are sending Hudon down on a conditioning stint.

I would keep him over Carr for sure but just no way would I put Hudon at center.

What are they giving prospects these days such that broken sternums fix themselves that quickly?

Which is exactly my first thought.

did they officially say it was broken? I didn't hear that if so. I know in the AHL they changed their policy and barely ever give injury updates and when they do it's the usual lower body injury, or upper body injury. Management doesn't seem to want to share much in the way of injury info.

They're not really giving him much of a chance, huh? He's looked good in every game he's played in the NHL since last season.

He's definitely getting back on Sunday. I would be ready to bet on that.

I don't know why management doesn't like Hudon. IMO he's outplayed both Carr and Andrighetto on his stints with the habs until he got injured. Hopefully he gets another chance soon.

Hopefully it's just a conditioning stint with the Ice Caps and he'll be called up soon.

It's most likely just a conditioning stint. The day before Hudon got injured, Therrien said he really liked what he saw from Hudon and that he was going to give him a lot more chances to prove his worth.

He pissed on Lefebvre's car, maybe... ?

The guy was injured only for one week and a half. No need for conditioning stint. They just don't like him for some reasons unknown to us.

Both are older and they want to make sure they evaluate them properly before deciding their future?

It makes no sense to me to use Ghetto and Carr when talking about Hudon. JDLR and McCarron should be the ones you talk in the Hudon group.

Well, I will assume from now on that Hudon will never play for the Habs.

I never understood why they didn't like him.

Maybe he looked at Therrien or Bergevin wrong?

Why? He hasn't played a game since November 24 due to injury. It's perfectly normal for him to get back into game shape in the AHL after an injury.

Because of past usage.

Also, that's only 2 weeks you know.

With a broken sternum. Maybe he'll play the weekend in STJ and be right back up. Assuming he won't play for the Habs because he got sent down after an injury is premature and mostly a shot in the dark.
