Seriously I'd take a sock puppet over Sly.

Anyone but Lefebvre at this point. And Bouchard have been actively coaching in the Q since 2008, I don't see any harm in giving him a shot.

I liked Joel Bouchard when he was an analyst on RDS

Interesting rumour. By why would the Armada be moving?

Bouchard's is very charismatic and can easily interact with media types -- just what the doctor ordered with the Rocket getting far greater local coverage next year in Laval (assuming the rumor is founded). Plus, liking his reputation as a good teacher. Wondering how good of a coach he is in terms of preparing his team and in-game management.

He has quite the resume, between owning, operating, coaching the boisbriand armada (QMJHL) and also being involved with WJHC for Canada, he knows he young men. (these days this can be misconstrued)

He is an excellent coach with the Armada and will be a very good coach at AHL level. No doubt. he is doing a lot with very little in his hands in Blainville. The guy knows how to work with young players.

JF Houle would also be a good option. He is an assistant coach in the Oilers org.

If Lefebvre is hearing about that, how motivated is he gonna be to finish the season on the Rock ?

For the record, Gilles Courteau, QMJHL President, denied the rumors of the Armada moving.

Some people, and I don't disagree, feel that there is not going to be enough interesting people to attract at both places, Laval and Boisbriand. Again, don't disagree. I know, not the same type of hockey. Still...that's how it works around here.

Always wonder why Trois-Rivières can't have a team again.

Because Shawinigan is just 30km away.

A losing team will not be tolerated in Laval.

Now whether that means MB will go out sign a bunch of washed up depth guys to help them win, or actually fix the problem, that remains to be seen.

Bouchard is easily one of the best coaches in the CHL. Always wanted to see how he'd do at the next level.

Okay, that's understandable, but tickets to see the Armada are really cheap. We don't know how much tickets to see the Rockets will be but you can get tickets to watch the Armada from 18$-36$ which is perfect for families and the quality of hockey is good for the price point. How much would you pay to watch the Rockets?

It would be a great move imo, but I don't believe it for a second if it's coming out of Laraque's mouth. He's a pure speculator and has no insider intel.

I'll wait to hear from somebody even remotely connected to the organization before jumping for joy.

Not sure if people heard Joel Bouchard's entire segment, but he also denied Armada moving......but I heard nothing about him denying being the next Rocket coach.

It would actually make sense, he left his job at RDS to focus on a coaching career, getting a job in the AHL is the next step for him.

To answer the question "Why not now?" for Bouchard to replace Lefebvre , the Armanda are 1st in the QMJHL with a legit shot at the Memorial Cup. I doubt that he wants to leave right now.

Well....the first step was made so that a team in Trois-Rivières could actually come back. QMJHL governors decided to remove Shawinigan's right to oppose to a team moving closer than 40Km. And that what Trois-Rivièrs do need though is a new arena, and this is where it's more problematic. A great rivalry existed back in the days between those 2 teams.
