What to do with Ribeiro?

No value around the league.
No value playing a regular shift.
No value playing sparingly on the 4th line.
No value playing on the PP.
No value in the dressing room.
No value in waiving him.

Anyone have a clue?

Glad I could help.

Every post from this clown is exactly the same. It gets a little boring.

I think we should find out when Hamilton practices. Mr.Dagenais has too much time on his hands.

I know the stat is 'debatable' but Ribs at +- of minus 14 is way lower than any other forward...you could see yesterday he gets knocked around and beaten consistenly around the net when back checking.

Ribeiro's days with the habs are counted, especially with the emergence of Plekanec who IMHO will be able to assume the second line role next year (and could arguably already do it this year). On the other hand, I disagree with the "Ribeiro has no value" line; he's certainly more tradable than, say, Theodore. Sure, he has important deficiencies, but he's still a dirt cheap point producer, and some bottom feeder teams may very well be interested by his service. There're a few ones (Washington for example) that could use him well as a playmaking power point specialist.

Obviously he won't fetch us anything great, but I could certainly see Gainey get a second-tier prospect, a pick, and-or some character veterant for him.

In the case of Ribs, Zed, Dandy, Sunny, and others the only way we could ever make trades is to trade deception for deception and hope the player you'll get regain confidence and play better. Either that, or you trade players for picks or prospects and kinda forget about this year but it's too early to do that.

Here is a very revealing stat..courtesy of last night's broadcast...Ribeiro has the 520th worst plus minus out of 560 players in the NHL...that has to tell you something about what his value is.

The only thing that could be in our favour is that he plays with us. And since the Habs, true or false, have the reputation of ''strangling'' their offensive weapons, well some teams could feel they'd be able to reset these machines.......This goes for Zednik as well.....But you still be able to trade for other players that still have some problems as well....Do we need that?

There used to be a flock of Ribeiro-lovers on this forum. Then one day they all disappeared, like a flock of startled geese. I checked other sites. Much the same. Either they've migrated or they're hiding under a rock.

I still think he could be somewhat usefull. The reason I don't dislike him as much as everyone is cuz he's portuguese, I know it's foolish but it's my reason.

There were many Ribeiro bashers during that time also.
