I've been wondering who the next coach to be fired will be.

The Islanders have strung together wins against strong opponents, so despite their board wanting Capuano ousted, he seems safe for the time being.

I haven't heard a lot of rumblings regarding Lindy Ruff, but the Stars are nowhere near where they were last year, winning the very competitive Central. Sure they have injuries, but the team looks disorganized.

Some guessed Tortorella would be on the hot seat at the start of the year, but he might be a candidate for the Jack Adams.

Lots of references on many boards about the OT loser points keeping weaker teams as factors often very late into the season. Pierre LeBrun raises the question of changing that formula with views from both sides of the argument. Think Brian "the brain" Burke comments sums up the Bettman/owners desire to create of a league fixated on mediocrity. Do hope articles like this help fuel a much needed debate on the subject, including the often overlooked fans perspective.

Capuano, Maurice, Tippet, Desjardins are who I`d expect under the heaviest of microscopes

Preds were winning 4-1 at the start of the third. First minute, devils get two goals and eventually tie it. Goes to OT, Preds largely dominate but don't score, then, you guessed it, last minute devils go right down the ice and score. Aaarrrggghh.

Hard to argue with the way it was carried out. Made me wonder if the new ownership in Flordia were close with Jeffery Loria? Peolpe in Montreal say hello along with a few others choice words I can't type.

Video of the Gubranson - Martin tilt from last nights game provided by Sports Net in Canada. Settling a score from a nasty game previously played this season. Major blows landed and I flinched on more than one. Worth a view.

I can't believe how tight the conferences are. The Rangers only have 3 more wins than the bruins and they are leading the conference however the bruins essentially tied for 8th unreal.

He sure was and is but amazingly the Kings are still in the race despite him taking over for Quick.

Take away from the game - three of four goals in regulation and two in OT were all high quality shots to the top shelf corners over his glove and blocker sides. Kings were targeting that area and were able to exploit it very nicely. The deserved the win but that takes us back to your comment. In any regard, Paging all Bruins!: please take notice

Wow, Calgary is killing Anaheim in the second period. Five goals, score is now 6-1, with a couple minutes still left in the period.

And now it's getting ugly, predictably. I agree with the announcers, Calgary is being dumb by initiating it.

Fantastic article on Hamilton with input from 5 senior scouts

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/w...ugie-hamilton/

All 5 scouts would deal him for - big win for Sweeney

JFK
Lauzon
Senyshyn

I didn't realize those 3 players had all made an impact at the NHL level. My bad.

If one pans out, it's a fair deal for both sides.

If they get 2 legit NHL players, and one is a Top 9 F or Top 4 D, than it's a very good deal for Boston.

If all 3 pan out, it's a steal.

But it's not a win yet.

Sure you can score 2 in OT. It's already been done before. It's called the Chris Campoli Combo. Oh so rare but special in its own right.

Man I can't catch a break with you today Dom. Good catch again. I sure could use a couple of those eagle eyes of yours. This situation however was sadly for me at least not a CCC moment. The two were scored in the shout out not in OT. The point still stands however that the Kings managed to put 5 of them top shelf on Price. Though in was note worthy.

Yup, could go either way, can't call it a win until we are getting some meaningful and prolonged contributions at the NHL level from one or more of our guys. I did think Hamilton would be better to this point but a second pair right shot dman with some defensive zone issues but can put up 40+ points is something teams will take on their NHL roster.

I think all 3 of our prospects have a chance, none are a lock. My guess is Lauzon doesn't make it as an NHLer, JFK does make it as a 3rd or 4th liner, Senyshyn is a wild card.
