Yes, I`m concerned with our current injury situation - it`ll be a difficult time and a good challenge for sure.
Thanks @Revel to start this topic.

Going to be a tough stretch. System is designed for skaters with skill. Not plodders that work hard.

Jooris, Lindberg, Hrivik are facing an uphill battle in the skill dept.

Good thing we built an early season cushion.

It's something to do when things are slow at work. Makes me feel useful.

Peumpel also updated via the same article. Basically, he is still going through protocol and is doing "off-ice" activity.

Any reason why it says Nash has a Concussion?

Have I missed any news on Buchnevich over the last week or two? Is there still speculation that his "back spasms" are something much worse? I really don't understand this extended absence.

They reported a few days ago that he had a bulging disc in addendum to the spasms.

I'm ok with them not rushing him back. Build his core strength, make sure his back is ok, and then let him play. He's more valuable to us in the long-term than rushing him back and re-risking injury.

I don't think it was a bulging disk. I think it was a protruding disk, which is what comes before a bulging disk. A bulging disk would be really bad.

So in theory we could potentially have nash and buch back tomorrow? Likely won't but at least there are possibilites now.

Hell might freeze over, but pigs ain't fiying. Nash supposedly tried skating on his own today (the team was off), but no one was around to report it I guess. And Buch is still 2 or so weeks away

Quote:
“Probably in the same timetable that we had said,” Vigneault said, meaning the one-week schedule that could have Nash ready for Thursday’s game in Dallas
Quote:
ussian winger Pavel Buchnevich continued “following his program” to strengthen his core, according to Vigneault, as he hopes to avoid the back spasms that have kept him out since Nov. 12. Sunday’s was the 15th straight game he missed, and he should be ready within the next two weeks or so.

I remember when I got the flu 3 or 4 years ago...my wife and I got it the day before christmas...we were literally bed ridden, barely able to get up to go to the bathroom for a solid week. i have no clue how McDonagh could play an NHL game so soon...id expect him to miss more than 1 game. assuming it is the flu and not just a bad cold.

We normal mortals do not have access to the meds or the treatments professional sports teams have. I had a foot injury last autumn and I could barely walk for weeks. Was diagnosed with long term implications from breaking it in 5 places in a car accident 30 years ago. Degeneration. Knew somebody that knows the head doctor of the Polish National team in soccer. I walked in limping on crutches, they scanned it in two ways, injected me with a "mystery gel/acid" through ultra sound detection on the screen pinpointing the affected areas and I have not felt anything discomforting since. Like nothing. I asked what this was and he smiled and said "stuff for champions. and Gods". Crazy World
