Zboril, O'Gara, and Grzylcyk likely also in the mix.

Maybe even a kid like Wiley Sherman, as well.

Don't count out Jeremy Lauzon. Good reports from WJC.

Some will pan out, others wont. Keep'em all and see where the chips lay.

Lauzon and Zboril will fit right in with the current bunch. They both get lost in the defensive zone quite often.

Lauzon is going to need time in the AHL --has the tools and size.

Identify the ones that won't and sell before the rest of league finds out. Self scouting is what they need to do

Thank God we hit on McAvoy and Carlo fell into our laps. I'm not writing off any of the other guys but getting two guaranteed above average players helps me sleep at night.

McAvoy hasn't made the NHL yet.

Just a formality. He'll be thrown into the lineup so fast it's going to make Colin Miller's head spin. As soon as he's signed of course.

Awards:
Zane McIntyre was named the AHL’s Goalie of the Month in December. McIntyre went 9-0-0 with a 1.65 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage. The Bruins originally assigned McIntyre to Atlanta of the ECHL on Nov. 25 once Anton Khudobin was cleared for backup duty. Providence was on a road trip, and Dan Vladar was playing well alongside Malcolm Subban. McIntyre went on his run after reporting to Providence on Dec. 1. It’s possible that if Khudobin (1-5-1, 3.06 GAA, .885 save percentage) continues to struggle, McIntyre could be given another look as Tuukka Rask’s backup.

I would be shocked if Lindgren is not captain of USA next year, if healthy. I think there is also a possibility he is captain at the U as a sophomore, which would be unheard of.

As another poster noted, assuming they all pan out but development time also will be a factor with some making it to Boston while others are still developing their game in Providence. But like you said, it's a good problem to have. That said, the last thing we want to have is another Michael Hutchinson situation where we released someone a little too early only to see them develop in another team's prospect pool and become an NHL goalie. I don't recall the reasoning at the time (glut of goalies under contract, didn't feel he would develop, etc.) but not a good thing to happen to an asset you spent time developing.

He skates well and has lots of confidence when he joins the rush. I just wish their defensive awareness was a bit better. Reminds me of Joe Morrow.

which is why they need to find a team looking to unload a nice piece for futures, and offer up some type of combo of 1st rounder/one of the prospect D/one of the prospect F. would love to get JVR but i think that's unlikely.

TSP did this last year, so bringing it back for the 2017 version of the New England Hockey Journal’s Boston Bruins organizational prospect rankings.

You can read the full article at http://www.hockeyjournal.com; a top-20 is broken into a pair of pro and amateur lists. This podcast covers the non-pro futures, plus the HM 11th player who didn’t get an in-print capsule, but is a very good prospect for the B’s down the road.

Want to know who we’re talking about to the tune of about a 45-minute breakdown? Just click on the audio file to listen…

Agreed. The attached Prohockey article also does. Review of several if not all Bruins current D prospects including Lauzon along with McAvoy, Lingren and Zboril among several others. The quote below sums up the situation as being a bright future for the Bruins. Worth the read.

"The Bruins have not had much to be happy about over the past few years, especially on defense.
However, their current and future depth is an embarrassment of riches. They have the potential to almost be too deep on D. The Boston blue line has a very bright future. So there’s something to be happy about."

The way I see it, a prospect is more of a throw in on a big trade than the central piece. Nobody wants to give à 60pts foward for a prospect who might one day become one or just might never play.

Gabrielle is the prospect I'm most excited about. We haven't had a guy like this in the system in forever.

As promised, back with part 2 of the podcasts, bringing you the outlook on the pro players in the Boston Bruins organization.

It’s a pretty solid group from top to bottom, with a couple of forwards and a goaltender at the top, along with a mix of all positions in between.

Hope you enjoy the rundown- as always- we appreciate the support for the blog!
