Looking back at these predictions...

Quote:
Speaking of the Rangers, their latest push to make the playoffs fails miserably. The team is all but out of contention by the Olympic Break, but can't start its long-awaited youth movement because there is no trade market for its older players.

New York Rangers 44 points
1997 was the last time the playoffs came to Broadway, since then the Rangers have spent foolishly in attempts to fool the fans with fading washed up stars. They have scouted poorly and not developed any good young players, and now they are asking for patience, if this were a Broadway play it would close after just 1 night

12. In a season of change there will still be constants. Injuries will undermine the progress of a handful of teams. Detroit is still Hockeytown. Gordie Howe is still Mr. Hockey. Montreal is still a hockey Mecca. The waiting list for tickets in Toronto will continue to be decades long. The Rangers will miss the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season. Some traditions simply can't be changed.

Now I know the Rangers haven't made the playoffs yet, but right now these are alot of fun to look at.

well, looks like they were completely off on 12, 13, 14

also, on the "12 rookies to watch", notice its lacking Prucha, Lundqvist and Tjutin, all 3 of whom could be considered in the top 12 for rookies this year.

Nothing wrong with going back 5 months, especially when it's talking about the current postlock out era. 5 years on the other hand...
