The Toronto Star is the same piece of rag that broke the Souray divorce case and all the issues surrounding it. The Montreal Gazette received the same information as the Toronto Star did beforehand, but refused to publish the messy details because there were never any charges laid against Sheldon. The whole thing was a made up story by his ex-wife and the Star fell for it.

That's all we need to know about the Star.

When men and women get old they tend to lose inches off their height because of wear and tear in the spine. However, when you ask elderly persons what their height is, in most cases they will cite what they were at their adult peak. (Once 6 feet tall, always 6 feet tall, etc.). The Maple Leafs, the Toronto media, and the fans stubbornly insist the team is a contender despite its precarious position in the standings, which reflects an 8-game losing streak, not an already ancient hot streak. The Toronto public will have a rude awakening when the team fails to make the playoffs. They should look at the crows' feet and wrinkles on Ed Belfour. It's the face of the team.

It just makes me laugh, especially with how bad the laughs have been for the last few weeks. They make the Habs look like stanley cup contenders.

imo the Habs are a pretty good team which has been playing "awful" hockey lately. I don't think they're an awful team at all. In fact i'm quite optimistic about the second half with the return of Markov, with Kost'n and Perezhogin playing well enough to pressure some of the vets and in turn triggering a trade that might bring a solid d-man and with the hope that Theodore regains his confidence.

1st - The Star called it like it was. Not only that, they clearly described the TO goals as they were: 2 of them were "lucky"........which is True. Now how many papers REALLY call it like it is....against their OWN team???(esp in TO). My hat is off to the Star for ACCURATE and Honest reporting.

2nd - Truth is, Mtl has been poor to awful for 'most' of the last 2 months; embarassingly so. Its true, so whats so hard about admitting it??

3rd - Mtl Mod made a very good post about Mtl's probs: w out your best and key players playing at or near their best on a "consistent" basis, no team is going to do well....including our beloved habs. Truth is : we're a 7th to 10th place team (based on our talent level...which far too many fans OVERestimate) and depending on how well our 'best' players perform. When they don't perform well, esp the goalie, then you have a team struggling to stay in the playoff race....which is EXACTLY WHAT WE HAVE.
