People should browse the previous Pacioretty thread. Very enlightening.

The man is on fiya.

Still not a huge fan of the idea of him being captain though.

Not this year, for me. He's captain material. You can't discount the Weber/Radulov/Shaw/Price presence to help Pacioretty grow, but he is due a lot of credit.

In the "part II" of this thread I said I still supported him as the captain of this team regardless of his slump due to his work ethic and commitment to the team.

This guy live and breathes bleu, blanc, et rouge and many of us took take that for granted. Of all the players on this team that I love, and there are many, I think he is my favourite. You can tell he lives for his dream of raising the Cup and I for one am happy he is striving to do it for this team.

Captain Max, you're extremely deserving of it.

Getting #18 in 19 seconds isn't too shabby, one second away, I'll let him have that one. Capt. Wolverine to you buddy!!!...

Love having Max as our Capt.!!!...

Do you still want to trade him for Nash?

Well thanks for that...lol....I did browse it and some of the comments, trade ideas, that he will never score 35 again, no heart, etc...were really ridiculous.
And some of the posters that really bashed him hard, calling him a ghost, have now disappeared, like ghosts do.

he's still not Captain material. He is on a hot streak though, not his first - not his last.

Nope. And that was a suggestion I had made in November, if I'm not mistaken. I didn't exactly argue vehemently on wanting Nash instead of Pacioretty.

Agreed. Goal scoring winger should never be captain. Just let them do their thing, away from the media pressure that comes with the C.

And that's not a knock on Pacio. He's a scoring winger and he's doing his job.

Your captain should be one of these:

-All-star, #1 center
-#1 all around veteran dman
-Respected veteran

Anyone of these guys can answer to the media after a 0g, 0a game and their production won't be a question. Doesn't work for Patches, because he's a scoring winger. Hence why he shouldn't be captain.

We can talk a lot about his captaincy but he was the only possible choice to be honest...

You don't decide. His teammates do. And they did. They are with Max in the locker room when the mics and cameras are off.

That's all that matters. The disrespect for Pacioretty began when the Habs players decided he was far and away better than PK. PKs gone. The team has let him go. The sooner Habs fans follow suit the better for reduced angst, Emo and stress.

The hatred of Pacioretty early in the season is as irrational as the current hatred of Gallagher.

The folks who have been calling Max out haven't gone anywhere.
Oh and by the way neither have his shortcomings.
Enjoy the STREAK.
