Were this true ... and its not ... then winning would be even more important to AEG. The more successful the team, the more revenue from higher ticket prices, longer playoff runs, increased merchandising and more lucrative television deals.

The truth is AEG is trying to win a Cup. However, so are 29 other times (well maybe 27, discounting Boston and Chicago). You're really just whining about results, but tyring to make your point seem more profound.

It's a tired act. Maybe you should try something else.

I don't think it is a coincidence that his screenname is HeadInjury.

Am I just whining about results? Can you honestly say that AEG wouldn't have to "try harder" to be successful if they weren't selling out nearly every game already? If the attendance dropped to 9,000, they would either have to improve the product or fold their tent.

Right now, they have 18,000+ people willing to give them major dollars to happily watch a team flounder. The fans will ***** and moan, but they still buy those tickets no matter what happens.

AEG is trying to win a Cup - and I'm trying to become a fitness model. (for those who know me, please stop laughing)

At this rate, neither one will ever happen

I suppose this explains why we have never addressed team needs during the course of a season, besides adding a journeyman near the deadline to appease only the gullible fans.

You'd be amused to know how many of those 18,118 are actually bought at game time by AEG so they can announce the sellout.

While I have plenty of complaints about the team, I think you have to acknowledge that AEG has made a number of significant improvements. The Manchester franchise has paid huge dividends in player development, and the team has done an outstanding job of building from within. We have more better depth than we used to. We have some excellent prospects coming up -- Kopitar, Boyle, Tukonen, Tambellini, Pushkarev, Grebeshkov, etc. The glass is not half empty.

Most of those prospects are only as good as they are because the team either stunk the last few years and got lucky at the draft (Kopitar, Tukonen, Grebeshkov) or sold off valuable assets (ex. Blake->Boyle, Schneider->Tambellini). It doesn't take good ownership to do that. It's expected when you tank and sell the farm. The Pens and Caps have barnyards full of great prospects and not due to ownership.
