Joffrey Lupul healthy scratched for the first time in his career. It probably won't be the last time it happens this season. He was invisible vs San Jose. Babcock will be giving him this type of "wake-up call" throughout the season.

I don't know
I think it's a mishmash
Babcock keeps shaking them up
At one point I think Johnson was playing with Rucchin

geez less then a second left in the 3rd and they tie it

ah well Niedermayer wins it in OT!

Rucchin with the assist

Sykora = 1g 1a
Rucchin = 2a
Ozolinsh = 2a

Giguere needs to be better

He didn't know where it was. He still looks shaky. Hopefully Gerber gets the start on Friday.

In defense of the team (although it looked like Feds whiffed his clearing attempt), the linesman blew the offside call. It was obviously intentional and should have went back to the Philadelphia zone.

A win is a win NTL.

We deserved this win. That was a stupid goal that tied it with a second left, off a skate...plus the fact that the refs messed up the offsides call.

Niedermayer wins it!!!

In defense of Giguere, two of those goals were off deflections including one off his own teammates skate. Those are hard/impossible to stop most of the time.

Sauer was back to being a good defensmen tonight. Maybe after seeing Vish scratched, Sauer was scared he might be the next one to sit out. Federov was great again. Sykora, Prospal, and Ozolinsh are all playing very well.
Ward played pretty well in limited minutes.
Penalty kill was good.

The bad was powerplay being 1 for 8 and only scoring on the 5 on 3.
Giguere had a bad game as well. Gerber deserves to play the next game.

Home games vs Buffalo and Chicago gives us a very good chance to be .500 heading into the 6 game road trip.

Letting the other team tie it up with 1 second left is unexusable. But it helps that we won. And helps Nied's stats too.

nice to see sykora has been steppin it up. wow I think Vish should be worried about being traded. He was getting a rest? nah, i dont buy it, I think he's seeing how Ward would do.

I have 2 questions for u guys, if u can answer them it would be appreciated.

1. What were the lines? (sounds like Babs mixed them up, but what were they most of the night?)

2. And how did Ward play? better then Vish usually does?

I would say yes. He was physical when he had to be, and made all the simple, safe plays. Not bad for a guy who hadn't played in a meaningful game in months.

2) Ward played well in limited minutes. Threw a couple big hits, made safe passes when he had the puck, and had a good fight with Primeau.

I see him as a good 7th defensmen for us when Carney comes back. Possibly gives Murray the opportunity to trade Vish, along with Simpson being a stable 5th-6th dman. Sauer also played well tonight.

I thought Ward did really good tonight. Much more impresive than Vishnevski.

I didn't like seeing Lupul being scratched.....but they did the same thing to Chistov the begining of last year.

Lupul seemed to play awesome on the powerplay, when he gets back, it will step back up dont worry. I can tell this kid is gonna be something. He will have a better season then chistov had last year, unless they take him out of the lineup when Leclerc gets back. but i think they should keep him in it.

The problem wasn't really with the goals allowed that I saw. He just doesn't seem to be seeing the puck well, and he's not controlling rebounds well at all as a consequence. He's really fighting the puck.

Compare it to Gerber's performance against the Sharks, who were just as dangerous and were so for longer stretches. No bad bounces, no staying motionless in the crouch after the puck had hit him bouncing high into the air, wondering where it was, just sharp. Up and down, boot the puck to a duck defenseman or hold onto it and freeze it.

That hit he threw on Lapointe just inside the Ducks blue line was the best hit of the game.

I'm starting to get a little tired of Burnett.

Prospal is starting to show signs of life.

Interesting note on the recap of the game on espn.com.

Game notes
Flyers general manager Bobby Clarke finds it weird to see Fedorov in a Ducks uniform after 13 seasons with Detroit. "I would never be able to understand Fedorov leaving Detroit for Anaheim," Clarke said. "I'm just talking about the pressure that comes from playing in Detroit, Philadelphia, Montreal or Toronto. That is a good atmosphere to be a hockey player in, and the type of atmosphere you want to be in.." ... Many in the crowd of 12,737 cheered when it was posted on the video board that former Anaheim captain Paul Kariya, who joined Colorado as a free agent, will be out indefinitely because of a sprained wrist. ... Keith Primeau, on the eve of his second anniversary as Flyers team captain, was assessed 11 minutes in penalties during the first period -- including two roughing infractions, one for unsportsmanlike conduct, and a fighting major.

Lol if i was there i would have been cheering there with them.

Agreed totally. I think they need to throw him out there against Buffalo and let him work through whatever he's going through.

That's classless. I don't miss Captain Cardboard one bit, but I think cheering for a player getting injured is bush league.

I wouldn't even cheer if Jeff "Burn In Hell" Friesen got hurt. I think.
