McCormick plays on the top 2? Nikolishin moves up? Hinote?

LOL...no dice on Larsen playing 2nd. I'd rather move McCormick up so he can at least keep up with Sakic and Selanne.

ADD: Kariya is a LW and is out. Konowalchuk is a LW...makes sense.

DenverPost reported that Worrell will likely play on Thursday against the Oilers , so I think Cummins might be scratched .
Damn straight Cummins deserves to be scratched.

Kono will almost certainly play the 2nd line IMO.

Tanguay/Forsberg/Hejduk
Konowalchuk/Sakic/Selanne
McCormick/Nikolishin/Hinote
Worrell/Hahl/Cummins or Larsen

Hinote or Hahl is definitely better suited for the 3rd line over *gasp* Larsen.

I suppose Hahl can move up and Larsen will center the 4th line.

Anyone know if Konowalchuk will make the EDM game tomorrow?

Good luck with that. The Avs are going to need it.

You guys might disagree with this, but I'm kinda glad to see Larson back. I always liked him. He always played with pasion and energy, grinded it out, and stuck up for his teammates. This is what this team was missing. Plus he's got a lot of leadership. He certainly ain't no scoring machine, but I always saw him as a good replacement for Mike Keane whenever he retired or left, but he got sidetracked with a few injuries.

I hope I'm not jinxing it, but I think the Avs will do well against Edmonton on Thursday. Larson, Hinote, Konowolchuk, and Forsberg especially will have good games, playing as leaders, and playing with pasion. I got to think Joey will get at least a goal too, he always comes through when the times are tough.

He was in Ottawa Wed night so I think he could easily make it by plane.

Not sure who replaces Kariya for the short term. There's a few options but I would guess it'll be Konowolchuk. Once Kariya is back I see the Avs with a better team today than they had yesterday.

Tanguay-Forsberg-Hejduk
Kariya-Sakic-Selanne
Konowolchuk-Nikolishin-Hinote
Worrell-Hahl-McCormick
(Cummins/Larsen/Moore/Krestanovich/Stephens)

Skoula-Blake
Liles-Morris
Skrastins-Foote
(MacAllister/Smith/Slovak)

Aebischer-Sauve

I think they could use a veteran goaltender either to backup Aebischer or as a starter if a top notch one is available. They could also use a little more veteran depth on the blueline although they do have some excellent prospects in the system for the future.
