Look like the Habs will be the first team to face Weight with his new team.

And for those disapointed that we don't got him , there was zero chances anyway.I wonder what Carolina gave to get him.

For the sake of my fantasy team, I hope Brind'amour doesn't get demoted in terms of lines and such.

Why couldn't they wait until Wednesday? Any momentum the Habs had from the Toronto game will likely be stopped dead in its tracks.

Hopefully that puts too much pressure on Staal and then Weight's age betrays him and they start sucking!

I unfortunately don't see that happening.

This is a great move for the Canes and apparently they only give up Boulerice and picks(you gotta think a 1st rounder). First place in the NHL and now they add Doug Weight...scary team.

It's funny that every team's board in the Northeast division has this as the last thread discussed and it doesn't effect them that directly. It'll be interesting to see who they gave up to pick up Weight.

I'd say the first place team in our conference adding a top flight player effects us quite a bit.

According to TSN.ca this is just part of a bigger deal? Should be interesting to see how this pans out.

Yeah, just hoping for the best....Weight gives them two strong lines....scary... But sometimes these things don't work out, you never know...

Yeah somewhat but not as much as if he'd gone to Toronto, Florida, Tampa, Jersey, THe Isles, Boston etc. The teams we currently have to worry about.

I doubt it'd be a first rounder.

Well apparently it's not only Weight going to Carolina. Lots of names flying around...Drake, Weinrich, Ladd. Sounds like it's going to be a pretty big trade when it's all finialized.

The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired Doug Weight and 27-year-old Finnish forward Erkki Rajamaki from the St. Louis Blues. In exchange, Carolina gave to the Blues three draft picks and three players. The package includes forward Mike Zigomanis, Jesse Boulerice, Magnus Kahnberg and the Hurricanes' first-round pick in 2006

Pretty strong package for a rental......I guess it won't be just a rental

The bigger deal is the sale of the Blues to former Rangers Exec Dave Checketts.

A lot of assets moved in deal for a UFA. An interesting trade to be sure, and it didn't just happen overnight.

I too am interested to see what the lines will be like. Staal is the obvious #1. Brind'Amour has been great at #2. He's a better checker than Weight though. I wonder if someone will be moving to the wing.
