slovakia is gonna get housed...but that would be great if he ripped it up and kept the pace until seasons end

I think though there will be a small backlash against Lemaire IF Gaborik rips it up.

Well they won't get housed alright. They are not favorites in this thing by any means, but I will not be surprised if they sneak up to the podium (bronze medal). They can beat anybody, except Canada (not many teams can), and Czech R. (big brother-little brother thing). But of course, it's only if their goaltending comes through.

There's always a backlash against Lemaire, no matter what happens. People don't care, they just like to spout off.

I'm sure the thought of playing with guys like Hossa and Demietra will appeal to Gabby's sense of flair.

He was basically leg whipped by Ruutu in their last game... looked like it could of been a bad injurys, sounds like it ended up as just a bad bruise.

Gaborik is my favorite non ranger player. I dont think there is any player when healthy that can be as explosive as him (except maybe Ovechkin). I also think he is the fastest player this game has ever produced. If i wanted a franchise winger, Gaborik would be that man.

I like Gaborik alot, alot, alot. And indeed he is explosive because he got that separate gear which make him very dangerous which he show in the game against Russia. But I dunno about fastest player the game ever produced part, cause there is Pavel Bure

That last goal was simply awesome - grabs the puck in his own zone, blows right past the dmen, and puts a laser in the upper corner. As far as I know, there's no successful way to defend that.

I couldn't watch the game. Who was Gabbie's other winger and centerman?

It is interesting to imagine what Gabbie could do with Rolston and a power forward on the other wing. This Olympics might be what convinces DR to spend some money on a power forward to complement Gabbie and give the Wild a serious first line.

The slovakia 1st line forward look like this:

Gaborik-Demitra-Hossa

If you missed the game, as I did, you can catch the highlights at www.nbcolympics.com. They have all the goals from all the games there.

Well, bad news is that Slovakia is out of the tournament now. Good news is that Gabby (and Rolston for that matter) will have a few days to rest before the final push for the playoffs. Great tournament for both of them individually.

One of the few guys who played well for the USA was Rolston, Gaborik was great too, but he has also been great for the Wild, so I fail to see why there would be some sort of backlash...
