Do we have to take them? Can't we just send them to St Louis?

You've rooted for Phillip Rivers. You could never sink any lower.

A bummer for sure. It's mildly funny to me since I grew up a little bit north of LA and had the Rams/Raiders leave in 1995. I always get asked how I ended up becoming a huge hockey fan and it really was a perfect storm of the 1994 MLB Strike, the NFL leaving LA, and the Lakers being in that stretch between Showtime and Shaq/Kobe. Picked up the NFL again after coming to San Diego for college.

This announcement probably does save me some money though. I had been aiming to go to Dallas next year since it's the once every eight years that the Chargers go to Jerry World.

I'm just glad that I was able to take my Dad to his first game this season.

there are more raider, ram, and cowboy fans in LA than charger fans all because these whiney owners can't have a stadium that makes them even more money

Still going on about how the Rams had lower ratings this year than any of the seasons they had in Stl? The Rams had to compete with an already established fan base whose team happened to have a great season, which they never had to do in Stl. Plus, there was a league-wide drop in TV ratings this year.

There was no progress in talks so this isn't surprising

I don't think I said anything about St. Louis in that post...

Nope went back and checked. Said Raiders were the team people in LA were tuning into see. Was the case two years ago, was the case this past season, could be the case next year.

Did not say anything about St. Louis.

The Rams and Chargers are in LA. Raiders are in Oakland.
There will still be more Raiders fans in LA than the Rams and Chargers combined.

You are underselling the popularity of the Rams/exaggerating the popularity of the Raiders in LA. Reverse the W-L records and you wouldn't be saying the same. But the fact is the Rams had a warm welcome here.

And I wasn't specifically writing about your previous post. I do remember you bragging about the Rams having higher TV ratings in Stl.

The Rams are in the right place, that's the bottom line.

USA today reporting an agreement has been reached between Chargers and StubHub Center for next 2 years until stadium is done in LA

Interesting to watch games played in such a small stadium to be honest ,, Fans should have a unique experience in coming two years

Theres like half dozen people in this thread saying the same thing dude. You seem to have a problem with me saying it as if I'm the only one. It's a Raiders town first and them not being in LA is ironic, considering that fact.

And if it's going to take a good W/L record, to turn things around? Well based on history, the Chargers will be the second biggest team in LA in a short period of time.

This was probably inevitable. Sucks for San Diego.

LA doesn't need a 2nd team though.

Raiders to Vegas is next.

I hate all this relocation.

Having worked there and in NFL Stadiums for games, I don't even know how they could handle it from an operational standpoint.

It's not big enough for an NFL team (two during those 8 home games), LA Galaxy, all of their academy teams, and US Soccer. It's just not.

Long term I wonder if the relocation starts seriously hurting the NFL. It seems safe to say that Oakland is not far behind. If San Diego is anything like St. Louis, the interest in the NFL will virtually die, but they will probably become the new NFL sword of Damacles that they try to hold over cities.

They've burned bridges in two cities, probably will do the same with a third shortly, all the while, they haven't exactly hit a home run in LA, especially with the Chargers going instead of the Raiders, and who knows what will happen if they go to Vegas? There's zero guarantee of that working at all.

You would think this could eventually catch up with them.

At least the Chargers won't have to shorten one of the endzones and have them done in turf - like the lame Frankenstein setup they've got at BMO.
