He still made some head scratching moves as coach, I'd argue the past two years he was holding the Islanders back. Not that I mind.

This year is on Snow though, losing Okposo and Nielsen and hoping to replace them with Ladd and Chimera was just insane. Okposo was their second best player and Nielsen was the glue of that team.

I was really worried last summer that Boston was gonna fire Julien and then the Islanders were gonna toss Cappy out and snatch him up. Now I hope it doesn't happen this summer.

Cap didn't do himself any favors, that's for sure, but the Islanders just had one of the worst off-seasons of any team that I can remember. That's on the GM.

What makes you say that? Their roster is crap.

Isles fans can thank SNOWball for that one. Awful GM, should never have a FO job again. Amazes me the people that can get FO jobs.

Capuano is a lousy coach, but they aren't going anywhere until they get rid of Snow as well. Absolutely awful GM.

I don't think any of us are in a rush to see that happen though.

I agree with those of you who blame Snow much more so than Capuano.

Think about the choices Islanders have made to run their team the past 25years since Bill Torrey the architect of their Cup teams retired in 1992.

Don Maloney for 3 years. Loved him as a Ranger lord I do but as a GM, he has been terrible for both Isles and Coyotes before he got canned.

Mike Milbury for 11 years. I am not sure there are adjectives effective enough to describe what he did to that franchise. He might be the worst GM in NHL history...seriously

Neil Smith for a month. To this day it's still a head scratcher why the let Smith go after a month. I forget exactly why but if it was to give Garth Snow the gig, this was a horrible mistake. I recall being a bit nervous when Smith got the gig as I thought maybe he'd do a good job for them and help make the Isles better than us. Nothing to worry about because:

Garth Snow has been GM for past 10-11 years and if it wasn't for Milbury, Snow might have the title as worst GM ever. Now he simply has title as worst GM currently employed in the NHL.

All I know is it's not coincidence the Isles have blown chunks for past 25 years seeing all you have to do is see who they have had running their franchise....pretty simple.

Apparently the Isles asked, and were granted, permission to speak to Gerard Gallant.

To be honest, I actually do want to see it. The rivalry is better when both teams are competitive, and I hate seeing a talent like Tavares rot away under that regime.

I've had plenty of time to crap on them for being a laughing stock. I think I'm bored with it.

Same. At this point, it's just sad. I thought we were there, really, then the Islanders had to go Islander it up. Remember how important this game was for both teams?

It's much more fun with the Devils and Chelsea

They can suffer for the rest of their existences and I'll laugh and happily kick them in the face while they're down.

Anyone advocating for Mike Green I hope you just saw what the Bruins did to him on the PK. Holy crap that was awful.

Athanasiou with another one. His fifth this month in 8 games.

Draft skill.

Not a great look for Carlo there... the guy they refuse to give up for Landeskog

In his past 20 games (including tonight), Carey Price is 9-8-3/2.80/.900
