Thrashers claim Fata on re-entry

http://www.pittsburghpenguins.com/te...rts/1639.0.php

The Penguins were going to have an additional player in their lineup against the Rangers – Rico Fata. However, he was claimed on re-entry waivers by the Atlanta Thrashers. Fata, who had no points in 20 games in Pittsburgh, was demoted to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton earlier in the year. He had 18 points in 25 games for the Baby Penguins.

How can a team just pick up a player without being on waivers or up for a trade. This new CBA is horrible. The penguins are retarded for letting him go. So I want to pick up Phaneuf without a trade or waivers done.

What a dumb move from the Pens.

I know Craig Patrick was a good hockey man at one point, but he needs to go.

This move screams playoff race.

I can't see how this team thinks it's going to compete if this is the blueprint for adding to the team for the drive? Someone said on the Thrashers board that he was a center (thought he was a wing? ) and maybe this was a depth move and ment something else bigger was being planned. All I have read about was how the Thrashers need help winning faceoffs and they bench Slater tonight, who has a FaceOff % of 57%. This makes tons of sense. I hope DW isn't to preoccupied by the Olympics to help this team.

Yeah. Zero points in 20 games, 5 giveaways a game, no defense, hilarious on faceoffs, terrible hockey sense, awful shot. What were they thinking?

I hope this is a joke. Rico Fata isn't good. I wonder how people don't know this.

Probably because when he got traded to the Pens he was hot for us...but now where is he? WBS fans are burning on the Pens for this move...like i said, not a big loss.

First Palffy. Then Lemieux. Now Fata. What a tough time to be a Pens fan.

Seriously, not a big deal. If Atlanta needs a fourth line hustler with little hockey sense then they made a good move.

Yeah Rico had zero points in 20 games, but its not like he was the only one stinking up the ice. Rico has unbelievable speed but clay for brains. He could have been a decent 4th line Pker for the season.

The Pens are loaded with players who project to fill those roles. Fata also lacks the hockey sense to be useful on the PK.

People criticizing the Pens for this have no idea what they're talking about. Fata is fast, that's the beginning and end of his attributes. Oh wait, he has that crappy deke he tries on EVERY FREAKING PLAY, even though it never, ever, ever, ever works.

The Pens will miss him and his contribution to the league's worst PK.

Waddell... Don, what were you thinking????????'

There is no player in the NHL with less hockey sense than Rico Fata.

I hope the Thrashers fans like offsides... They're gonna see an increase in that area.

Offsides are to Rico Fata what roundhouse kicks are to Chuck Norris.

Aswell as the rest of the Pens troubles this season. All in all in NHL history has there been a team that has been through alot more then the pens of this season? and i don't mean teams having worse records, i mean "bad luck" and hardly anything going their way the whole season. Seasons been doomed from the drop of the faceoff in training camp, we were even last at that.

I thought than was Ian Moran? Has he passed that title to Fata?
