Odd decision to start Henrik vs Colorado and Raanta against the superior team.

Schedule gets tougher. I wonder how AV will deploy the rotation with the Isles coming up, then two with the Caps and another with the Jackets.

They're going to have to start resting him more no matter how much he wants to play.
Not odd at all given the fact they wanted him to get his 400th win on home ice.

Video of Hank from his annual goalie clinic this weekend saying how he would never leave New York to get a cup.

It's either here, or no where. Go get it Hank.

I think Henrik would hang up his skates before playing for another franchise. He ain't Marty Brodeur.

Great credits at the end of that video.

It's great that he says that now while the team is contending but if this team takes a turn south in the next few years I'd really hope he'd consider moving somewhere else for a run at a Cup. I really don't to spend the rest of my life listening to Hank being called the best goalie to never win a Cup.

Sounds like a Ranger fan type of thing to do, though

With the current size of the league, there's going to be many current and future greats who never win a Stanley Cup. That's what happens in a 31 team league. I wonder when people will eventually realize this. Probably never, that's the nature of sports.

That's why I'm hoping he wins one, no matter which team it's with. And while you're correct about a lot of great players not winning a championship, as of right now he's pretty clearly the best goaltender ever to not have a Cup to his name. I would have absolutely no problem with him leaving this team to go to a contender (again, if this team should go south in the next few seasons).

Those OT breakaway saves by Hank are why I watch this sport.

He will have the sole posession of 10th all-time with his 30th win of the season. Truly amazing.

Henrik's play has improved, as has the team's defensive play overall. They feed off each other, I think. If Henke is confident in the defense, he doesn't put as much pressure on himself. When Hank is killing it, the team plays more confident on the back half.

In soccer, I had most of my "bad" games when the defense in front of me played like ****. I felt like I had to be absolutely perfect and would make mistakes as a result. If the defense was competent, even if we were overwhelmed, I was in a comfort zone and could stand on my head. It wasn't always that way (sometimes the team was awful while I was great, and vice versa), but it was pretty common.

Hank up to a .914 for the season. Wasn't he a .910 two weeks ago or so? He's doing a hell of a job. Gonna be tough to crack .920, but it'd be nice if he can at least finish in the high teens.

He was down to .902 by the end of the infamous Dallas game a little over a month ago.

I just wanted to ask Rangers fans since me and my dad talked about it. Is King Henrik not liked by his teammates?

I ask this because when he was run behind the net earlier in the year nobody dropped the gloves...We're from Ontario and so...We simply expect someone to fill in the guy running any team's goalie. Especially a guy like Lundqvist, highest paid player on the team, Vezina winner and so on. He's got a big rep you know?

Henrik seems a little fancy, the type of guy Canadians would find "flashy"...So what's the deal with that? Why didn't anyone drop the gloves when Eakin dummied him?

https://youtu.be/cC8YFnVm2lc

^^ Henrik hit

https://youtu.be/5jALjwT6kfc

^^What me and my dad expected as a reaction

Not trying to talk ****, just asking what the deal is, thanks for any insight.

Two interesting tweets:

Brandon Cohen @brandonco4
If you remove an 8 game stretch from 12/23-1/17, Henrik Lundqvist has a .927 save percentage in 38 games this season.

Brandon Cohen @brandonco4
Henrik Lundqvist save percentages:

First 13 games: .920 sv%

Next 12: .923 sv %

Next 8: .843 sv%

Recent 14: .937 sv%

Lundqvist needs to get his off-ice shenanigans under check. All the Lamborghinis and extravagant fashion statements is like an open festering wound hurting the team. He needs to get his head into the game and become the leader someone with his experience should be. Oh, and also, he needs to do more charity! Cut down on those ****ing fashion shows and do some ****ing charity you ungrateful bum!

There has been numerous articles in NY papers trying to figure out who led him down this path of decadence and all fingers points to no good SOB Sean ****ing Avery!

Fortunately there has been some pushback from the team. For the last month or so there has been reports of Lundqvist sightings in upstate NY together with some of his teammates. According to eyewitnesses, the Canadian veterans are trying to get Lundqvist to appreciate being outdoors. Some experts have gone so far to even credit him being back to form to his newfound love for nature and him distancing himself from his old material loving life.
