Notes
- The Flyers are playing their 3rd game on a short 4 game West Coast Trip. They are coming off a 5-4 win Saturday vs. Phoenix and will finish up their trip tomorrow night vs. Anaheim.
- The Kings will be playing their 3rd game of a 7 game homestand, the Kings are coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Boston in which they lead 3-0.
- The Kings struggles on the PK continue as they are currently the worst in the NHL.
- Roman Cechmanek will face off for the first time vs. Philly since being dealt to the Kings this summer.
- Ziggy Palffy currently leads the NHL in scoring with 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 pts in 5 games.
- Canadian Olympian Simon Gagne continues to struggle offensively, after a below average year last year he has yet to register a point this year.
as predicted, brennan will suit up and strbak will replace zizka in the lineup...AM has called out modry to be more physical. here's hoping for a kings win tonight.

Other Flyers injuries:
Somik (Out)

Also read that Therien is going to dress for the first time tonight (possible showcase for the Kings ???). Did not indicate which defenseman would sit in his place. My guess is Pitkanen, although I'm hoping that isn't the case.
Looks like Pirnes and Sim will sit. This is the right decision because there are 28 teams that have watched the Meltdown from Saturday. If you were a coach with a brain the main focus would have to be on physical play. Until we prove we can stand the heat there gonna be a bunch of tough stuff in the kitchen.
Pull up your sox boys looks like it will be another bumpy flight.
I hope Pitkanen plays, I don't like what's going on, being benched for the thrid last game and maybe sitting tonight. I don't see them benching anyone else, maybe Ragnarrson but he's been ok so far.
The games between the Kings and Flyers are usually pretty fun to watch. Something worth watching always seems to happen. Many years ago the Kings won a comeback game in Philly with the likes of Khristich and Ferraro. Stumpel scoring with 1 second left to complete a late comeback in LA. Although recently, the Flyers have taken it to the Kings, wherever the game is played. But at least last year there were the fights in LA, and then the Kings playing a good portion of the 3rd period last year in Philly with the goalie pulled. Cechmanek used to shut the Kings down every time he played them. Last year the Kings were even younger overall in the games against the Flyers then they will be tonight. With most of the injuries to the Kings(Allison, Deadmarsh, Norstrom, Miller, Norton, and you can throw Kuznetsov in there), the size that could maybe keep the Flyers in check to a certain extent is out. With the injuries to the Flyers, they still have good size at each position, especially down the middle. You know what the Flyers are going to do. Play defense and try to wear the Kings down. And if they get multiple power play chances from that type of play, and the Kings PK continues to play like crap, it'll be a long night. If the Kings as a team can stand up to that, they have a shot. If they don't, then Cechmanek will have to completely shut the Flyers down himself.
Kip Brennan and Todd Fedoruk had an awsome fight last year in LA, which Brennan won. Hopefully there will be more of the same.
It was an awesome fight, but it's hard to claim that Kip won. He had the edge early, but then Fedoruk came back and knocked Kip down. I'd call it a draw, or maybe even edge to Fedoruk based on his furious comeback.
There is no doubt in my mind that these two will tangle again unless AM screws it up!
Any time a player gets dropped to end a fight, its called a TKO and is definetly a loss. Kip Brennan is a great fighter and completely took it to Mcallister later that game, but he got beat by Fedoruk in a great fight. In an interview with hockeyfights.com, he labled Fedoruk as probably the hardest puncher he has fought against. This is just another example of Flyers fans being hard on Fedoruk for absolutely no reason. Hope to see a rematch.
This should be a good one. I say 3-2 Philly. (although I hope I am wrong) I agree that it is wrong to continue to bench Pit. He is proving (when allowed) to be everything that we all thought he would be. I spent last year watching Jaybo as close as possible and in the couple of short times that I have seen Pit I would say that they have equall skillsets. I still think that in the long run that Jaybo is the better of the two but Pit is the real deal and it is a tough choice. That said, I hope that he actually gets used enough this season for us to get a look.

I was in attendence for that game. it was during the 98-99 season, Audete scored on a 5on3 PP with less than 2 minutes to go. and the Stumpel scored on a shot from the blue line. It was the greatest kings game that I attended. (I was a exchange student for that time, so no playoffs for me).
p.s.: Khristich was playing for boston that time. he was traded for Stumpel. Our top lines were Luc - Stumpel - Murray
Tsyplakov - Perrault - Audette

LOL! Brennan won? Wrong. They were trading punches until Fedoruk clearly KO'ed him. You might be getting Fedoruk and McAllister mixed up because Brennan beat McAllister in the same game(First fight i've seen him lose).

I did get them mixed up. Brennan messed up McAllister. I remember it clearly now, I just got names mixed up. They were both great fights though.

I remember this goal like it was yesterday. The goal was offically scored at 20:00 of the period. The clock on TV said 0.4 seconds left. The Flyers led 4-1 after 2 and I think was the only game during that season they lost when winning by 2 goals or more after 2.
Did not indicate which defenseman would sit in his place. My guess is Pitkanen, although I'm hoping that isn't the case.
Hopefully not Joni! the kid needs playing time, and this game with the tempo these teams will play at, is perfect for him. This should be a fast paced game.

I remember that game. That was one of the few bright spots for the Kings that season. Not only did Stumpel actually shoot, he scored a goal
