Nick Schultz

It seems that Nick Schultz has been picking up points as of late ... it took him the longest time to register his first point of the season & now he's finally approaching 10. Has he been getting more ice time lately? How has his game progressed this season?

I haven't seen much Wild this year, but Schultz's pattern is to suck at the start of the year, get benched or scratched a couple times, pull his head out of his ***, and play steady D with modest offensive contributions as the season winds down.

Does that include the one he scored against Rollie the other night?

I wonder how many of our players 'accidentally' scored on our own goalies...

"Hey! Let's pass through the crease where everyone is!"

He also stopped Sakic and Hejduk on a two on one, then blocked Sakic's twisted wrister during the same shift (different game then the one he deflected in), but hey, lets only look at the negatives. At least he doesn't fall down like Kuba, get beat like Henry, or be in the penalty box like Zyuzin.

I don't know if that was serious or making fun of me Ceber, but I do feel that Schultz is one of the more steady D-men we have. I know he is inconsistent and I feel he is beginning to lose hope of most fans, but I think he with either blossom into a steady player or be traded where he won't be so nervous to make a defensive mistake and end up putting up more offense (similar to Z. Michalek).

I was completely serious. Been a fan of his for a while. He's not flashy, and this season he's seemed a little less sure of himself. He makes many good, steady plays though.

I would like to second that. Too bad he doesn't know that the season starts in October

So do I. One flippant remark doesn't mean I don't like the guy, or that my respect for him is wavering in any way. But like him or not, when a defenseman scores on his own goalie, he's gonna get needled about it for a while.

Yup, when he's on his game, he steady, mobile, plays excellent positional defense, and chips in a little offense.

Usually a very good first pass, too. He's a smart player.

PK, yea. PP, I can't recall one time that he has been out there this year. In past years, he saw some time on the 2nd unit, but not much.
