Positive Outlook indeed AC.

Anyone know the last day of his season? Are they expected to go far into the playoffs like last year? Him being available towards the end of the NHL season and getting that nice bonus $ could be a big piece to signing with the Jets.

Teams aren't invited to the tournament per say in college hockey - it's solely based on the Pairwise rankings - essentially the top 16 teams make it. Currently UND is #9. In case anyone cares, a good explanation of the NCAA tournament "selection" can be found here:

Will Brendan Lemieux ever make it as a regular on the Jets lineup?

I think he has to ramp it up a bit in the second half here. he seems to be getting a little bit more disciplined at least. I could see him making the Jets in a year or two.

He's still young, so it's possible he'll get to that level. We might have too much depth though.

Should he? If he deserves to, I imagine he will.

He's been much better on the Moose lately. If he finishes strong and has a good summer he has a chance next year.

Got down to see UND play on Saturday night versus UNO and came away extremely pumped about Tucker Poolman. While the team played like garbage, he was the best player on the ice by far. He had a couple massive hits and truly looked like he'd outgrown the level.

One PK shift in particular he stepped up and broke up a break-in by absolutely pasting some little UNO player into the boards by the penalty box at the red line, turning the puck over. He then, from standing still, took off towards the offensive zone outskating everyone to make the rush a 2-1 but instead of driving the net, he saw he had a 3rd UND player coming in on his left so he held up in the high slot and picked off both the UNO back checkers to allow he 3rd UND guy some space and a step to the net. Play didn't result in a goal even though Boeser made a sweet toe drag but just missed the net. The play then turned back up ice and Poolman was able to get back to break up the rush again and send the puck back down the ice.

He is ready for the next level. Jets are extremely luck to have this guy, just got to sign him now, which I don't feel like will be a problem. Sioux do not look good and I predict a short playoff run for them this year, so we could see Poolman signed and potentially in the lineup before the end of this year. I still think he may play some with the Moose to start next year however, but this kid is for real.

Only bad thing is that he played the entire game on the right side. Last year he played mostly on the left but this time, exclusively right. He played a lot with his left shooting brother and the left shooting captain Ausmus, so that could be why. Either way, he dominated and I couldn't be more excited for him. The way he played very much reminded me of Trouba's play this year, he was all over the ice but rarely (if at all) out of position. Couple big hits and very sound defensively. He fumbled with the puck a couple of times, but the ice was atrocious, guys were falling all over, so I'm not worried about that.

Thanks for the scouting report. Havent been down to watch him play this season, but know a few that have, including a friend that scouts for another team, and all have had positive things to say about his game. Heard some solid things about his brother as well.

I hope you are right, that signing him will not be difficult, but I feel it wont be that smooth. If I am his agent, it only makes sense to take offers from other teams, and get the highest dime you can.

It's still an ELC. Every team would be offereing the same base contract. $925k with a $92.5k signing bonus ($70k AHL) the Jets can offer him that contract as soon as his season is done at UND. He could pocket $100k or so before the summer and then another $92.5k on July 1.
