Regarding the recent home/away jersey change...

Okay, so I still get confused while watching highlights...it's just something I haven't adapted to. Then I saw the Detroit/Montreal game a few nights back and it was Bizarro World all over again - Montreal was wearing a retro white jersey from 45-46 and Detroit (the road) team, wore dark. WTF? I'm beginning to get used to the jersey change...and one team goes and screws it up. Geez.

Here, at least, a lot more people have the dark jerseys than the light ones anyway- I thought that was one of the reasons behind the change. I bought the navy jersey when it was the road jersey, just because it looks cooler than the white one.

As well, most of the 3rd jerseys are darker.

Montreal's alternate(the retro) is white...and you're trying to sell it to the home fans so Detroit had to wear dark.

On saturday though the Penguins(home) wore white and the Red Wings wore their reds so that the Wings would only need to pack one set of jerseys. Confused the hell out of me until I found that out.

The Rangers blue jerseys at the Garden look awesome. The Rangers white jerseys on the road....well, that's gonna take alittle bit of getting used to.

Teams used to always wear the dark jerseys at home, so it's not that new.

Mainly being done because most 3rd jerseys are dark, so they can be worn at home without the other team having to pack 2 jerseys for a road trip.

It does take some getting used to when watching highlights.

yup...I went thru this in the olden days when they shifted to dark on road...

back in those days of brawling it was necessary.. they simply couldn't pack enough white jerseys nor launder out the bloodstains.

At the end of a multi-game road trip some teams looked liked butchers when they took to the ice...

true story..
