Is it bad that I only found 'I killed my mother' just.. Ok?

Manchester by the sea however was absolutely stunningly depressingly great. Casey Affleck wow

There is nothing wrong with that. Dolan was a very young and annoying actor and director back then but i thought that 'I killed my mother' was more honest and less fake than mommy with a more appropriate running time, better score and still a top notch cinematography.

You shouldn't feel bad for liking or disliking a movie or a director. There is so many ways to connect or not with a movie: the story, the score, the cinematography, the acting, the cultural references, your personnal experiences, how old were you when you watched the movie for the first time, etc.

I despise Godard, Fellini and Tarkovski because i found most of their movies empty with bad stories, bad acting and fake dialog but gorgeous cinematography. But at the same time, i can understand why some people will like their movies.

Black Sails season 4 premiered last night. Another excellent episode but I can't say I'm surprised. The show has been so consistent since the end of season 1. Too bad it's the last season. I'm sure it'll go out with a bang.

I started watching the Fall season 3.
First 2 seasons are way better than the 3rd (watched first 3 episodes)

Finally got around to watching Arrival. Very good movie and finally a science fiction with an interesting script and no unnecessary shoot-em up scenes. A solid 8/10. Good job Denis Villeneuve. Lion is next on my list of Oscar nominees.

Final episode of Elementary was interesting, featuring two of Quebec's treasures; Maple syrup and your Montreal Canadiens.

I just finished 3%.

It was good but it has only 1 season. Season 2 will be out this year.

It's a Netflix original brazilian series.

Next up the OA? Is it any good.

Do you recommand Sense8, Marseille, House of cards or Narcos?

Any other good series on Netflix?(for my girlfriend and me)
I prefer series with more than a season.

I have seen:

How I met your mother
Dexter
Breaking bad
The office
Lost
The returned
Suits
Walking dead
The 100

I've watched 3 episodes of OA and I really like it. IMO, it gives off a Stranger Things vibe. It's totally different... I can't explain it.

House of Cards is awesome.

I recommend Stranger Things, Master of None, CrazyHead, Freaks and Geeks.... so many really. If you like british crimes series (River, The Fall, Paranoid, Spotless, Broadchurch, Line of Duty, Luther). I just finished watching Slasher, which if you liked the Scream movies (and slashers in general), I recommend.

That really made me laugh for some reason.

Recent movies:

Lion - terrific, tear jerker but in an authentic way. I really enjoyed it.

Son of Saul - terrific, tear jerker but in an authentic way. I'll never watch it again.

Been gone for a while. Any convo on the Young Pope? It's contrived, but still good for me.

It was outstanding. Would you like to discuss it in greater detail?

How do you rank the best picture candidates?

I wasn't a fan of the OA but that's just my opinion. Sense8 is great, as is House of Cards. Narcos is really fun especially being familiar with Pablo Escobar. I haven't seen Marseille, so I can't comment. Another good Netflix series is Bloodline. Season one is so good. If you like Western, cowboys, indians and the birth of the trans-continental rail road, Hell on Wheels is a fun show.

Sense8 starts off super boring, but it culminated in one of the great cinematic experiences of my life.

Can someone please recommend a detective fiction series? Doesn't have to be all that good, I just want to check my brain out while watching something akin to Elementary, Bones, Blue Bloods, etc.

Never seen any of those tbh, first thing that came to mind was True Detective S1.
It's much darker than what I assume something like 'Bones' is, and gets more into character development, but I remember it being pretty good. Never watched S2 so I can only recommend the first season.

Thanks but that's exactly the opposite of what I was asking for. I don't want to think nor do I want it to be dark. I just need some typical cookie-cutter stuff they run on mainstream networks.
