Red dawn is amazing

Acting is not great, but it touches so many themes and does it so well. And yeah, it's an 80's film so there's some cheesiness that comes with the territory...

Cool -- so we're gonna get a worse, less competent, and dumber version of 22 Jump Street.

Maybe, maybe not. Kevin Smith is still funny to me though, so I'll definitely watch it.

The only movie of his I haven't seen is Yoga Hosers, which just looked really bad. I'm sure I'll still get around to it at some point though.

Chasing Amy
Clerks

Good:
Mallrats
Clerks 2
Red State
Dogma

Okay:
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Jersey Girl

I forgot about Zack and Miri. I'd put that into Okay. It was funny enough, but pretty forgettable.

Jesus Christ, Kevin Smith, grow up already. It's like the guy still hung up about his teenage years.

Hacksaw Ridge. Very good war movie with a deep human side. Starts off kinda funny, but once the action starts, look out. If you like battle scenes, this one has plenty and well done also. Based on a true story. Great job by Mel Gibson directing. Should pick up some awards. I'd give it 8 out of 10.

I don't understand why you have seen so many films from a director who's work you think is complete garbage.

John Wick is an amazing action movie if you can digest the bodycount and gun advertising. It's James Bond with bloody head shots. If you enjoy a bit of the old ultra-violence check out Wick asap.

John Wick: Chapter Two is at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, so you could do the double header.

Even the ones that didn't totally work for me were at least very interesting movies. I don't think he's over rated at all.

I just started to watch Taboo because the sixth episode is tonight. This series is underrated, it's very dark and incredibly interesting.

Arrival was pretty good, I thought. I think there are parts they could have gone in a lot more dpeth about (not going to ruin it for those who haven't seen it) but it's definitely worth seeing.

I used to not like John Wick because he was upset his dog died, big ****ing deal, but I watched it again and I was amazed. The level of details is impressive.

You don't think somebody murdering your beloved pet is a big deal?

Really?
